I just ordered District 9 for $5.93 and shipping was $0.96! I hope this is their new standard shipping rate. Too bad the sale is just on Pre-Viewed movies.

Edit: I was looking at the sale again around 8am this morning, shipping is now back to $2.16 :(

The titles I picked up have been nowhere near $9.99 (I've been watching them for a while).

I must have ordered 50 titles from hastings when shipping was dirt cheap from them, and they must have taken a bath in lost profits from myself and everyone else ordering from them at that time.

I had been debating on picking up The Invention of Lying last week for $14.99 at Best Buy (yeah, I know it's not that great of a movie overall, but I love Ricky Gervais and the first half of that movie is great - it falls completely apart in the 2nd half).

Then click the "Used Movies" on the left menu

Then click on "Format" in the Grey menu bar and select "Blu Ray DVD"

Then click on "Promotions" in the Grey menu bar and select "Previously Viewed"

Just remember that goHastings does NOT guarantee that PV discs come with bonuses (extra disc or DVD, digital copy). Also, some studios have barebones "rental only" discs (e.g., no commentaries, extras, etc.) and this may be what you receive.

so i ordered percy jackson on blu. it was a rental exclusive that came with only the blu ray in the blu ray eco case. I called their customer service when i recieved it and they told me they would ship me the combo pk for free, and to keep the rental exclusive one and to do what i want with it
to me that is great customer service

In Gohastings terminology "Previously Viewed" means it's a former rental. You might get lucky and get one that's not but I doubt it.

Bit on Paul Blart, Duplicity and Couples Retreat. Normally would not own these titles but for $11 for all 3 it was worth it. The bitch was the $6 shipping on an $11 order, but even $17 shipped for 3 discs is less than $6 each. So like others before me I just hope they have real Blu-ray cases and are not toasted rentals

As someone who has ordered Previously Viewed from Hastings before, I am reasonably confident some or all will be rentals in rental cases. But you never know. I've received crappy rentals, perfect used, awful used, and I've also received a brand new box set when I ordered used. At least they do have good customer service.

I bought Avatar PV for $11.87 on Monday. Received it today. It was only the single disc "rental exclusive" version.

I called gohastings, and they're going to send me the full Blu-Ray+DVD 2 disc set (new, not previously viewed) and are asking me to mail back the rental exclusive version I got today (using their prepaid shipping label). They'll send the new discs to me ASAP, before receiving my return.

Great customer service.

I'm surprised they haven't added a disclaimer: "Previously Viewed movies are former rentals and may not ship in original cases or with bonus discs and content."
