Re: Kung Fu Hustle with $10 movie ticket

I got Seven Pounds, Dracula and Final Fantasy Spirits within with tickets/cash on them, but will probably return FFSW after readi g bad reviews. Saw Kung Fu Hustle, but 5 copies had no sticker. I honestly thought that was a terrible movie parody that came out several years ago, but I must've gotten them mixed up

Edit - did some research, and apparently the Blu is CUT, and not like the "Axe-Kicking Edition" DVD that came out (which contained the UNCUT version of the film). $10 or not, fuck that noise. I'll order this movie from overseas...
Can anybody else comment on this? I was going to blind buy this Blu-ray, but after this post, I think you can count me out.

What, you don't believe me? For real, it's the US cut, meaning it has some blood and a couple of shots completely removed from the film. The HK version of the blu is all-region, and uncut. I believe the US cut is 95 minutes, and the international/HK cut is a bit longer. I'll have to pull my region 3 DVD out...

Yep, the US and Canadian Blu-ray are the US cut of the film with violence and bodily fluids/waste removed.

The UK, Australian, Hong Kong, and South Korean BDs are the complete Hong Kong version of the film.

Actually the length of the cut and uncut versions are a matter of seconds. You won't feel like you're getting a longer, more complete film by buying the blu as much as getting one with less blood and feces. If you can't stand that they edited out some blood and feces, then you should wait for the uncut blu.

If it's a matter of preference, I'd PREFER getting the uncut version, but since we're talking about getting the blu free because we're going to see the movie anyway, this is a pretty good release. Another way to look at it is $5 blu + $5 movie ticket. Either way, I'd go for it.

Amazon also has it for $9.99. It also gives you $4 promotional credit for eligible movies and TV shows from Amazon Video On Demand. I am not sure if it comes with the $10 movie ticket.
