Walmart had it out early on Friday, but $29.96 (before coupon) was a no-go for me. Instead, I'll simply price match Walmart.com's price ($24.96) at Best Buy and then apply the $10 coupon.

If there's a better deal than $14.96 (not counting the BJ's coupon), I'd like to know.

Is the $10 Off a Disney Blu-ray with a Beauty and the Beast BD pre-order still going on at Toys R Us? If so, I'll be heading there on Tuesday to get James and the Giant Peach.

I'm hoping Toys R Us has is for $24.99 because then that would make it $9.99+ tax, although anything less than $29.99 will still probably be the best deal.

Yes, that offer goes through 10/4. The TRU website lists the pre-order price at $29.99, although I hope it will be lower in-store on Tuesday. Still, $30 - $10 - $10 = $10 ain't too shabby, especially if you are getting B&TB on 10/5 anyway.

Since there doesn't seem to be a James and the Giant Peach price thread, could people please post the in-store prices in this thread as soon as you know on Tuesday morning so I'll know if there's a better alternative than PM'ing Target to Best Buy at $26.99 before coupon?

Tofferman said he's going to PM Walmart to their web site for $24.96 and use the coupon. Does that generally work for people at Walmart? I haven't tried to PM their web site for years, but if memory serves in the past I was not successful getting Walmart to PM their web site (so many places use the excuse that the web site and its prices don't count for PM'ing).

The big problem with PM'ing this movie is that nobody put it in their ad except Best Buy, and my experience with EVERY B&M RETAILER is that they only PM printed ads and rarely accept printouts of web sites. So short of another store having it cheaper than Best Buy at $26.99, I don't think there are any other PM'ing opportunities.

Walmart has never allowed me to PM their website. However, I have been able to PM Walmart's website at Best Buy but even that is YMMV depending on who you get.

What is the exp. date for the $10 coupon?

So far it looks like there are not going to be any real deals for this (<$10).

Based off retailer websites right now...

Best Buy: $24.99
Target: $28.89
Wal-Mart: $24.96

Best Buy or Wal-Mart seem to be the best place to go. However, anytime I've been to Best Buy, I can't use a coupon on top of a price match. It's one or the other.

Manzana 08-02-10 10:57 PM

Re: $10 Coupon for James & the Giant Peach

Since Best Buy's printed ad shows $26.99 vs. their web site at $24.99, I expect most people (like me) won't be able to PM 1 of these 3 stores to Best Buy's or Walmart's cheaper web sites. I'm pretty sure one time (long ago) I was able to PM a printed ad and use a manufacturer's coupon (always with great difficulty) at Best Buy, but that's the exception rather than the rule. It's the same way I recently walked into a Staples and asked if I could PM something and use a coupon. The employee said no, I looked around for a while, that employee left, and I asked the next employee who said yes and did it. YMMV. Lots of times I lean toward saying "will you pricematch this and let me use a coupon" rather than "can you" because they usually can... the question is if they will.

Here's hoping Target or Walmart surprise us with a $24.99 or less in-store price, but I doubt it.

Buy it with the coupon, don't ask for the price match. Walk up to the customer service desk with your receipt, and ask them to price match the website. Most likely, they won't notice/care that you used a coupon when you purchased it, and they will do the price match, refunding you the difference. I've done this several times before sucessfully.

Remember, Sears will match competitor's lowest price + 10% off the difference + coupon. ;)

I can't get this coupon to print here at work. I really wish I just had a pdf or something to be able to print it.

Yeah, same here. Can't get it to print. Any suggestions on how to get it to print? It says I've already exceeded the limit it can be printed. But I haven't printed it once.

It prints directly to the printer set as your Default. If there's no default printer then it won't print.

I have my usual default printer already set.

I just called my TRU & they told me the price is $29.99. Yikes.

Shouldn't be too bad if you preorder Beauty and the Beast and get the $10 off as well as the James coupon.

Yea... $30, damn. Called my local one and they don't even have it. Called around some other stores and they all seem to be around the same price or didn't have it. Target was $30 also. Could probably do BestBuy price match their website since they let me do it before but that would still work out to the same price as TRU would have been.

I think I will hold off and decide later if I want it for that price, the coupon is good for 2 weeks so maybe by that time my TRU might get some or maybe even possibly an actual sale price somewhere :fc:

Hopefully BatB won't have this kind of pricing.

I've decided not to buy it. Just not worth it & although I like it I can live without it. Got 2 of those coupons printed up though. If anyone needs a coupon (or 2) I will mail either or both in exchange for the Rewards code for my DMR accounts. PM me if you're interested.

There must really be no deals on this if Trevor hasn't found any to post. That dude can usually find the best deal in less time than it takes William Friedkin to do another Ultimate Ultimate Ultimate "and this time I really mean Ultimate until my next Ultimate cut."

yeah, the pricing and advertising for this title is pure garbage.

$29.95 at Target
$29.96 at Walmart
$26.99 at BB (wow, amazingly the cheapest by a couple bucks)
$29.99 at TRU

even WITH the coupon it's too much. Totally pathetic

:) Actually, I've very rarely found/posted an original deal in all my years here. I'm a collator, just taking advantage of others' findings and combining them in one place, or spreading the word to other related threads.

Which reminds me, did I really not do my weekly thread this week? I thought I did it Friday, but I guess not. Crap, probably too late now...

I picked it up at bestbuy for 24.99 after they matched there online price so it came out to 17.32 after tax.

I posted the other day i wouldnt be surprised if this is a indicator that many retailers will now forgo putting these disney blurays on sale, since they pretty much now all know that disney is doing these 10.00 coupons for all their releases.

though i cant help but think that we will atleast see sale prices for the Bigger name catalog and theatrical release titles(i hope) like i really dont expect them to not be running a sale on Beauty or Toystory3 .
perhaps its because james is not really a big big disney catalog title that the retailers didnt have any good sales for it.
