success here!!

Went straight over to customer service/pick up and handed over m confirmation email and was very pleased when I saw her walking back over with the shiny black 'Grindhouse' cover.

Looking forward to popping this in on Saturday night.

The first store I placed an order at said Item Not Available. Checked the store's inventory and the two-disc was out of stock while they had copies of the individual titles. Hmmm.

Placed an order at two different stores. I'll see what happens in the next few hours.

Thanks to you and Dogfetch - can't wait to watch this Saturday night.

I was disappointed when I missed out on this when Amazon had it for $13.99, so was thrilled when this went through.

(btw I saw your post over on SD - looks like this is hit or miss)

I had to go to Best Buy anyway today, so I thought I would give it a shot...did not work, which I didn't mind....but I'm the guy least likely to complain about anywhere, I've stuck up for Best Buy on numerous threads... but basically a General Manager told me tonight, when I questioned a bogus charge and said I will just call my credit card company and have them deal with it, he told me he would sue me if I did....haha...it was $9.99.... so I went across the street to get my new blu-ray player and movies.

probably some high school drop out who hates his job and life, and gets off on the the little power he has at best buy.

Re: Grindhouse SE BLU - $14.92 @ DDD

I've had more bad experiences than good with Best Buy lately. The likelihood of success if I tried this Grindhouse thing would be less than 5%, but since I've never seen Grindhouse or Death Proof I'm not even going to try.

It's hard to believe a General Manager would say he'd sue someone over questioning a charge with a credit card. What's it to him? Though I've had loads of trouble with employees, supervisors, and on rare occasions managers at Best Buy, it has usually been them denying what I thought was a legitimate pricematch or a coupon... they've never once said anything threatening or stupid like that that I could make a complaint about being treated badly. I see the same old supervisors and managers, so these are career people who don't want to lose their jobs and are careful about the words they use.

They are basically just normal power-hungry people looking for any chance to deny somebody a deal because it makes them feel good. It's why I call them Best Deny/Worst Buy, and why my strategy is only to go there if I'm already going somewhere else nearby (because that way I won't feel like I wasted a trip when I inevitably get denied) and I'm equally hardnosed back. Meaning if they won't PM or permit the coupon I think they should, I just walk out (and I've done it more times than I can count). Recently when I had an issue with PM + mfg. coupon, when the supervisor came over, I recognized him as someone who has always denied me before, so I said to the other employee "uhoh, here comes the Great Denyer. I might as well just leave now because I already know he wouldn't give an inch if my life depended on it", the employee laughed a little, the supervisor denied me as I knew he would, I said in a sarcastic voice "what a shocker that you'd deny me" and left empty-handed. I could tell so many stories. Those are my opinions.

Last I checked, the court cost for filing a small claims suit was at least $50.

For denying the charge to my credit card companies I guess.

I woke up today with an e-mail from the executive office, area general manager, and local store manager all apologizing... so that is something.

I found the proper e-mail to send complaints to via an online search, someone at the executive relations office.

I had a store manager try to tell me that the UP steelbook wasn't free, and that you had to pay for it, and that the $7.50 wasn't applied to the purchase price. That was AFTER he told me the information about how it was free if you pre-order was the manufacturer's and so it didn't apply to them. I sent off a letter to corporate and they claimed they did something about it. I stopped going to that Best Buy because that store's policy was to deny any discount. However, I've gone to plenty that do, so it's not Best Buy as much as the policies of certain managers.
