Don't quote me on this, but I saw where a guy said they ordered Trick 'R Treat from DD back in April, and it has been on backorder for him since then. He said he canceled and reordered to get the 25% off but doesn't expect it to go through.
If that is true, then yeah, it may be a long time before any of us ever see that one from DD.

FYI I didn't send an e-mail, I cancelled the order directly in "my account" on the site. And just now (about an hour later) I just got an e-mail confirming that my order had been cancelled.

Before this sale even went live everything that is on backorder for me right now was already on backorder in the first place. I think those will be the ones we have to wait the longest for since they were already waiting for those items to arrive before the 25% off became active.
I don't really know why it happened, but when DD changed a while back these problems really started to be more common. I think they had to cut back on how much of a single item they could consistently keep in stock anymore or something like that. They used to be good at getting new shipments of items every single week and fulfilling the backorders ASAP. Those days are long gone though.

The Mel Brooks set is a good buy at $60-ish, but I already own the 5 movies of the 9-pack that I would want - the rest would be more out of curiosity or possibly for viewing as one-and-done except for Men In Tights, which I won't watch again. I have Blazing Saddles already in HD (red), so the rest would be an upgrade. 4 upgrades and 3 unknowns and 1 stinker for $60 is still a bit pricey.

If anybody is curious, Orphan is a fantastic film. It's one of the most underrated films of last year. If you haven't seen it, please, do yourself a favor and see it ASAP. You'd be surprised how good a horror movie can be.

Heroic Ones BD shipped out 06/04/10 and arrived in HI 06/07/10. Heat BD should be here tomorrow. It shipped out the same day as Heroic Ones. Both of these were shipped out Priority Mail.
