$3 off Astro Boy (Smart Source insert)

Don't throw your Sunday paper in the recycle bin just yet! i found a $3 off coupon for Astro Boy on DVD or BD on a SmartSource insert in my Sunday paper (Honolulu Advertiser). It's coupled with a L.A. Looks coupon.
Expiry: 04/30/10

It's also available on Red Plum's site -- as well as combination coupons for Twilight: New Moon (buy both titles and save, etc.).

Re: $3 off Astro Boy (Smart Source insert)

Thanks for the heads up. Dug the ads from Sunday out of the recycle bin and found the $3 coupon. Was surprised how good this movie was, the previews looked pretty weak but the film itself was fun to watch. Almost missed the coupon since it was on a page with the ad for hair products.

Wal-Mart's going to have Astro Boy BD for 19.96. YMMV as always.

Thanks for the heads up! Definitely checking there first thing in the morning. $16 after coupon would be extremely preferable over the $21 of fry's after coupon.

Re: $3 off Astro Boy (Smart Source insert)

I'm happy with 14.96 with 10% emp discount. I saw it yesterday and was shocked. Was expecting a 24.96 or 29.96 (like Princess and the Frog 3-disc)

Re: $3 off Astro Boy (Smart Source insert)

With some advice from the DVD forum, I got $16 off the Astro Boy blu-ray at Target using the coupon from the link above.

Ditto, however it required a supervisor override. But they didn't hesitate after looking at the coupon, since it "appears" to be meant for $16 off any of those 4 titles.

Re: $3 off Astro Boy (Smart Source insert)

I was able to use both coupons at Target and get away for $13 plus change. The $16 coupon from Red Plum didnt even need an override at Target, it just scanned and took it right off with no problems. Very happy at this cheap price, was expecting to pay twice this amount.

You can use the $16.00 redplum.com coupon for the four individual titles at Target (maybe other stores) YManagerMV. Its supposed to be for $16.00 off when you buy Astro Boy, New Moon, Twilight In Forks, & Bandslam together but due to bad wording on the coupon some stores are accepting them for each of the four individual titles. So that's $16.00 off per title. Thus how I (and others) got Astro Boy (DVD) today for only $3.99. Ohh and the coupon is for both DVD or Blu-ray. So your choice.

Yep. This worked for me at Walmart today. I paid $5.38 (includes the sales tax) for the Astro Boy BD with slipcover.

Re: $3 off Astro Boy (Smart Source insert)

Crap, I got mine at WM yesterday and went to play it for my son only to find that there are no audio tracks present. I tried both audio tracks on both of my BD players and got zero sound. I hope they have a copy I can replace it with when I go in tomorrow.

I tried at Target and they wouldn't except it. I'm gonna try again at another Target.

Re: $3 off Astro Boy (Smart Source insert)

Woot. Went into the third walmart today in Milpitas and they had one copy left on Blu. Used another $16 coupon and it came out to $3.96! They had to have the manager enter some code in the register but no questions asked and all is good. Took the copy back w/ my target receipt to get my $16 back.

Re: $3 off Astro Boy (Smart Source insert)

I debated trying to use the self-checkout and the $16 coupon, but ultimately went to a cashier.

It seemed like the main scanner wouldn't pick it up, but the scanner gun worked.

The cashier was amazed and asked me where I got the coupon so her mom could pick up New Moon...

Thanks for the heads up on the coupon guys!

Re: $3 off Astro Boy (Smart Source insert)

Neither worked at my walmart.
The old guy said they don't take copies so I explained they are real from a website. Then he said if they scan they will take them.
They didn't scan......

New Moon may be shit to some, but Bandslam is actually a really great film. However, if you thought Astro Boy was not shit, well, I don't want to know what you think a good movie is

Re: $3 off Astro Boy (Smart Source insert)

Came back from walmart with success! Shopped around 6:30 EST.

Was at electronics cashier first. The lady had no clue. she asked another sales associate. Both had no clue. They tried calling a third person over, but couldn't find that person. After 4 other customers were rung up while I was waiting, i told her to I'll try it at the front register. The lady at the front had no clue either. She called someone else over who said "if it scans, accept it." It scanned and prompted for a dollar amount. She entered $16 and I was out the door for $3.96 before taxes and $5.58 total for the BD.

Re: $3 off Astro Boy (Smart Source insert)

You should see the people over at the blu-ray.com forums... they are on the verge of wanting to lynch people for mis-using the coupon by only buying one title. They place is starting to scare me and I only joined like 2 days ago..
