Mel Brooks Collection $55.99 @ Amazon

Amazon has just price-matched Best Buy's Deal of the Day (Monday) on the Mel Brooks Collection at $55.99.

Frankly, I was surprised about the match since Best Buy's price was a one-day Deal of the Day which had already expired.

Same price at Deep Discount. That's probably what they're matching.

I had to pick this up while I can avoid paying sales tax. Soon, Colorado will force Amazon (and other e-tailers) to either report buyers from Colorado and make us pay sales tax at the end of the year, or start charging us sales tax upfront. I just hope it is not retro to the start of 2010.

Its funny how states are now starting to go after internet sales tax.

That sucks! We already pay an arm and a leg for annual vehicle registration.

Picked up the set, much thanks! On the sales tax, that sucks (I would hate for Texas to go this way too), but I think they would have a hard time making it retroactive. Just my opinion of course; but it would probably just have a start time. Honestly though, I would shop at Amazon a lot less if it happened here. It's not their fault but if I have to pay tax on something, I'll just get it local usually.

Its funny how states are now starting to go after internet sales tax.
NY started requiring sales tax from Amazon sales about a year and half ago. Yes it sucks but no sales tax does give internet sales an unfair advantage over local retail. Also due to the economy tax revenues are way down so local governments are trying to get money where ever they can. I hate it but there is nothing we can do about it. I stated on another thread that I was surprised more states weren't following New York's lead in charging tax on internet sales. It seems Colorado is.

I recently learned that in Wisconsin, we are supposed to report all internet purchases on our tax returns and pay the taxes later, but I dont know one single person that does it. I didn't hear anything about them reporting names. That would certainly suck.
