CRITERION Blu At Costco

Wasn't sure this merited its own thread, but thought my measly post about finding these might get buried in the general Costco Blu thread and I know folks loves 'em some Criterions.

Saw some CRITERION Blu titles at Costco, all at $23.99 each: THE LAST EMPEROR; BOTTLE ROCKET; 8 1/2; FOR ALL MANKIND; HOWARD'S END. Maybe a couple of others, but those are the ones I remember.

I was going to post the same! Saw all the ones you mentioned plus Paris, Texas for $23.99. All in the new cases except Bottle Rocket. This was Oxnard, CA.

As opposed to what, your favorite movie: Paul Blart, Mall Cop?

They were next to The Lake House and License to Wed. Quality titles next to quality titles

All the Criterion lovers I know, myself included, want them released as many places for as low a price as possible.

And please tell me which Costco sells 20 gallon tubs of mayo, because I want to go to there.

I can almost hear Liz Lemon saying that.

I'd rather get $240 worth of pudding (aw, yeah).

Personally, I see this as a fantastic marriage of two things I love: Criterion and Costco.

P.S. I'm digging your "snobby attitude toward snobbery" irony.

I find your snobby attitude towards snobby attitudes towards snobbery quite refreshing, sir! Good day!

Yeah, as long as the B&N 50% off sales continue, adding member discount and their frequent coupons to that should keep all Criterions well under $20, or hopefully the $13.50 I've grown used to.

That's the first thing I thought of with this thread. Why is this posted in the deals forum?

Seeing Criterions at Costco is semi-big news. It would be like Wal-mart carrying them!

Costco carried Criterion DVDs in the past. So why would this be big news (semi or otherwise)?

Blu-ray is niche. DVD never was.

Re: CRITERION Blu At Costco

It's a "DEAL" if you normally pay MSRP and don't shop online. If you found these at Best Buy or Borders it would most likely cost you more than what Costco is selling them for. There are still people who don't shop online or want to wait for an occasional sale like the one B&N has.

For the record, my statement was sincere, not sarcastic or snobby. I like ironic humor and found yours genuinely entertaining.

I checked at my Costco and saw no Criterion Blu-rays unfortunately.
