Found a Blu-ray at Ross

It's not much. The only one they had was the IMAX documentary short OCEAN ORIGINS for $7.99. Deep Discount's price for this is $11.49.

Maybe Ross will start to get more BD in the future.

Re: Found a Blu-ray at Ross

Found another BD here. It's another documentary of Africa's Super Seven. But hey, for only $5.99, I took it.

Re: Found a Blu-ray at Ross

Out of curiosity - are you guys buying these just because they are blu-rays? or where you specifically looking for these titles?

Chances are the reason that title is there is because it is the original BD release without the Dolby TrueHD and PCM lossless audio tracks.

Re: Found a Blu-ray at Ross

Just found 12 Blu-rays at the Ross in Orlando at Colonial and Bumby. All are $9.99.

Superman: The Movie
Arctic Tale
Oceans 12
The Neverending Story
The Corpse Bride
Casablanca
Scooby-Doo
Terminator 3
Pan's Labyrinth
Goodfellas
The Ant Bully
Alexander: Revisted

All but 1 have English titles only on cover. Only Arctic Tale had the English/French covers.

Not bad. Not great, but not bad. I've been looking for Neverending Story for 6-8, but ten is still too much.

Those titles sell for 10 bucks elsewhere anyways.

Yeah, I've seen Blu-ray in Marshalls and TJ Maxx, also. I remember "17 Again" there.

Re: Found a Blu-ray at Ross

At those prices for BDs, you might as well wait for an Amazon sale. I'm pretty sure they've had most of those titles for around $10 at some point. $10 for an old catalog title BD never struck me as anything more than an "OK" deal, but I guess some people get excited. I was at Sam's Club a few days ago and a guy was freaking out over the $8.88 BDs there (I already owned all of them except 2010 which is too expensive for me at $8.88 and Rocknrolla which I wouldn't ever want to own). He was grabbing 1 of each while looking at me in deathly fear that I might take one he wanted. I felt like saying "don't worry... I don't want any of those". I just looked at other stuff until he finished. Anyway, I think he bought nearly 1 of almost every $8.88 BD they had.

Re: Found a Blu-ray at Ross

Casablanca is a great deal at $10, though the rest are pretty much par for the course. Though, I'd spend an extra $.50 to walk out of the store with a copy in my hand, so there's that to consider.

I'll stop in to see if they've got a copy of Corpse Bride at my local shop, since it's one of the stragglers I still haven't replaced from the HD-DVD days. Thanks for the info, darkhawk.

Mine had Alexander, Scooby Doo, and Corpse Bride, all priced at $9.99. Wishy-washy deals, but I still picked one up.
