Picked this up today at BB for $8.xx. Wasn't sure I would have time this weekend and didn't have the BB ad to pricematch at Target.

Yeah, I understand that. But his description is lacking.

Does Target mean Target's own ads (as in, we're not advertising it ourselves, so we don't have to PM)?

Do they mean their copy of BB's ads (since this wasn't a normal Sunday run, they may not have it)?

It's vague because it's clearly in the BB Thursday ad, so there's more to this or it's just pure cock-blocking with no valid reason.

At the Targets I've been to, there are signs in the check-out lanes that say Target will price match any competitor as long as you have the printed paper ad from the competitor.

Ah yes, there is that sign @ check-out registers. But, my local Target won't PM @ register - you have to go to Guest Services afterwards to actually get the PM. I just cut out the middle-man & go straight over to GS.

At least places like WM will PM at the registers. BB will also, but up until a few months ago, you had to PM @ CS desk for the 110% PM guarantee - now there is no 110% - only 100%.

Thanks for the information. I generally don't blind buy BDs, but for a BD that costs less than $3 including tax, I made an exception.

A lady at the Target I went to today (Worcester, MA) said the same thing, it had to be in Target's ad in order to PM. I told her I'd go check the ad, but just went straight to Customer Service and got Tinkerbell and Terminator PMed without a problem.

Re: $10 Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure Coupon

Here's what Dan the Douche manager pulled on me. Mind you this is the same Target I was at earlier today and PMed T4 with no problem.

"We don't match special 3-day sale ads."

"But you matched Black Friday and that was only 2 days."

"Yeah, but we had our own ad those days. If we had a 3-day ad right now, we could match this ad."

"..."

"..."

"Are you serious? Well, alight then."

And I left, went to another Target a few miles away, got this deal and Predator for $4.99 after coupon.

Just so I'm clear on this: Target has a policy of matching advertised prices of their competitors, with a loophole if said competitor's ad is for a specific date range in which Target does not have an ad of their own spanning that same exact date range?

Does Target not understand the point of price-matching is to get the business of a consumer who can prove that someone else is offering a better price on the same product?

That's exactly what I told them today, when they REFUSED to pricematch the Best Buy 3-day ad. They said they do not PM "timed events." I said "there is no time limitation, it's all day Thurs thru Sat." But they claimed that they only PM ads that go from Sunday through Saturday. Every single time I try to pricematch, I get a different excuse. I have been turned down 4 times now, for a different reason every time. I am going to call their 800# and complain. I thought the purpose of pricematching was to make a sale, and take the sale away from their competition. Apparently they don't care about either...

Glad to hear I'm not the only person to hear that bullshit. Misery loves company...

Wow, I'm definitely glad I didn't have to deal with that. Sounds incredibly frustrating.

Sounds pretty lame. Almost as bad as one I just dealt with and their attempt to apply Targets' actual coupon policy to my purchase.

I've PMed several times before with Target coupons and haven't had a problem. Went to store I had successfully PMed before & tried to do it for another movie (Terminator Salvation). CS girl staight-out asked if I was going to use a coupon - (stupidly I guess) I said yes. She said - "ok, I don't want to do this wrong. Let me get someone over here to help me". Should have known then that something was up.

Sure enough, when other person came over she said (talking to other CS person) - (paraphrasing) "we have to determine which is cheaper - PM price or our price with (Target) coupon". Knew at that point that someone was following Target policy word-for-word & I wasn't going to get the PM I was expecting and walked out.

Went to another Target, picked up 3 titles and tried to checkout @ register and do the PM. Again, I was told that I'd have to go to GS desk. Went there and CS person rang up all 3 @ PM prices, I handed her my 3 coupons & she scanned them w/out a problem. No fuss, no muss.

That's the way a PM/coupon is suppose to be handled - IMO. Guess Target corporate doesn't think so. Basically, Target coupons are nothing but Targets' attempt to nullify any PM attempts. Or so it seems & reads.

Re: $10 Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure Coupon

Was able to pick this up for $2.95 out the door (BB PM down to $16.99 - $10 - $5 = $1.99 + $0.96 tax). Funny that I ultimately paid what amounts to 48.2% in tax for this deal, but I can't complain!

Re: $10 Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure Coupon

Tinkerbell BD is advertised at Target this week for $19.99. $19.99 - $10 Disney Coupon - $5 Target coupon = $4.99, no price match necessary.

You can still print the $10 Tinkerbell BD coupon, it expires on December 24th.

The $10 G-Force BD coupon expires on December 22nd, G-Force BD is advertised at $19.96 at walmart.com, I assume it's that price at Wal-Mart brick & mortor stores too.

For some reason I think that Target employees will be very happy once the $5 coupon expires.

Edit: G-Force was $25 at Wal-Mart and they don't price match to Walmart.com I ended up buying it at Meijer for $14 after coupons. I also got Tinkerbell, it was cheap and is something my nieces can watch when they come over.
