if your like me and wants the complete series you would be very hesitate.. no one wants to fork over 100 then less then a year later fork over another 150-200


very very tempting but i wish i could add the dharma season 5 edition for an extra like 20 then i would most likely instant buy this but again the complete series.. i know if i end up getting this 3 months from now they will announce some wicked badass set.. ahh eff it ill beable to make 100 back from these max 75-80 min so ill only lose out on like 20 bucks

So tempted to just order this and then return season 5 and sell my other 4 seasons.

Even at a net of $25 each for season 1-4 you have $100 right there and the cost of season 5 was $47 shipped.

Almost $40 profit selling them used.

Hmmm...this deal is so good it's a money-maker if you want it to be. I could buy 50 sets for about $5,400 and then just sell them as new, I'm guessing it's just going to be a bundle of each set already shrink-wrapped, and if you made about a $50 profit on every set, bam!, you'd make $2,500.

I wonder if people do things like that.

PS-Definitely worth doing if buying in bulk and making extra money is something you like. But as far as how much, my concern would be where does this bundle settle in at after the sale? Around $200 (or even less) and you know have Amazon undercutting the regular seasons. 5 seasons for $200 is still only $40 a season. You'd need to sell at Amazon for around $38 or $39 dollars to make the profit I used in the example above after Amazon takes their cut and you pay for packaging and shipping. Why buy 5 season from you when they can buy them from Amazon and have zero risk? How many people are going blu, decide they want Lost and just want to buy one season? Enough to make good money, but maybe not a 50% return. Sorry, I like to make money...it's who I am.

If I had the money, I'd be so tempted to do this. I've been wanting to upgrade S1-S3 to blu. I'm not sure how well they're going, right now. Lost rarely goes on sale as cheap as other shows, so I thought I could get about $20-$25 each for them. But they don't seem to be selling well on e-bay. If I knew I could sell my first 3 seasons on DVD and my S4 on blu for a decent price (and fairly quickly), I'd try to find a way to get the money.

I though when this was $145.00 back in August that was good deal.

I've already e-mailed them and got a $36.00 adjustment on my copy that shipped out yesterday, so all is square.

Now that's an awesome deal.

I did the math on used just because I'm insane and even if you undercut the lowest prices there and sold, say, you're season 2 at $28.50 (just an example) and sold the item as like new and you had a very good rating, sent them in a nice, large bubble mailer and by media mail, you'd be looking at about $22 for a used set. Don't know what the market is like for them and gave up on Ebay a long time ago. But you can also try and sell things were people might be less savvy or where prices are higher. It's not like you're trying to unload a lot of stuff. I've never tried there but dvdempire lets you sell and someone who goes there and isn't very savvy may spend more for a set priced just right. People are wary of used, this I know from my little bit of selling on Amazon. But if you can low-ball everyone, you will get takers far more often than you won't. With this kind of deal, you can afford to sell less to the people who miss out and just want the cheapest used blu-ray set they can find.

Oops, just saw you had 3 season in SD. Everything I went on was based on blu-ray prices. Sorry.

I checked Amazon, and it looked like the DVDs were priced around $15 a piece. That would be $45 for S1-S3. Then possibly sell my extra copy of S4 on blu-ray for around $30. That would be $75. Which means I would be out about $34 for the S5 blu-ray plus upgrading my first 3 seasons. Still not a bad deal. I just don't have the money. I thought abourt craigslist, but somebody just posted a new, sealed set of S1-S4 for $80. Unless they've already sold it and haven't deleted the post, I may be out of luck there.

Is anyone who also preordered going to wait for the automatic adjustment? I called in and they told me it would adjust on its own, but I worry since it's a gold box deal and will likely sell out. They put a note on the account so it shouldn't matter, but still, it's always odd how they'll adjust it for some and not for all.

Like you I figured this deal won't make through the day, since sometimes they'll adjust, sometimes they won't -- and sometimes the Pre-order Guarantee will kick in and sometimes it doesn't (although the Pre-order Guarantee has gotten better over the past few months) -- I didn't feel like taking the chance for a $36.00 difference that will be active part of a day and shot off an e-mail.

It doesn't hurt to reach out to them in cases like this.

If your order already shipped out (like mine) or is in shipping soon mode then you need to contact them for the adjustment. It won't be automatic. Plus, you have to call before the item sells out.

Oh so tempting, but I've already got S2 on DVD and S3 on BD and with the last season about to happen, there surely will be a complete series deal with similar per season prices in a year. I can hold out.
