I just got back from the Torrance CA store and they were totally out of the Blu-ray there. The tag on the shelf where they would have been said $19 something though.

The deal is probably dead. If no one reports the $13 today I'll have a mod lock this thread.

Re: Transformers 2 (IMAX Version) $13.00 at Wal-Mart YMMV
When I went through my debacle on Tuesday (I ranted in the Wal-mart thread about it), the guy in electronics department told me not to worry, that the Blu-ray would still be $13 for the rest of the week (because they were supposed to be receiving a shipment). I can't say I believe him and I didn't bother going back. I'm so over this deal.

Valley Stream, NY Walmart had it on sale for 14.86. Used the 3.00 Papa John's coupon and walked out with it for 12.23. Amazing price for an exclusive new release.

The Troy, MI store was $19.96, so with the PJ coupon, it was $18 and change OTD. I wasn't about to spend $5 in gas schlepping around to find a cheaper copy, if it even exists in my time zone. It's bad enough I had to go several miles out of my way to get to a PJ's since there are but a handful in the area. Weird.

Yeah, it was $19.96 as well at the Mound & M-59 store. I'll be holding out for a BF deal...

$19.96 in Pittsburgh - it seemed obvious to me the $13 price most were getting was a mis-price intended for the DVD, as that is what it was priced at as a "special discount"

This deal is dead. I went to the same Wal-mart today where the guy promised me that the price would be $13 all week. They finally had some in stock, but they were $19.96. They also had the hard plastic case around the set that was smashing the slipcase. I surmise that word got out about the $13 price tag combined with the Papa John's coupon and they were pulled from the shelves until they could adjust the price in the system, or until all the hoopla blew over.

My Walmart* only had the 2-BD version with special packaging... no mention of IMAX footage.
Oh well, I wasn't that hot on getting it anyways.

that's why they're referred to as the "big-screen edition" right? big-screen meaning IMAX? at least that's what i assumed. haven't yet opened my copy yet so i dunno

Yes, "Big Screen Edition" = IMAX.
I went to a few Walmarts this week, trying to find it for $13 ... and I did not see a single non-IMAX version in all of the stores.

went to 4 walmarts every single one was 19.99
walmart did a poor job at promoting this as the IMAX edition, they should of put IMAX instead of BIG SCREEN and its very odd that walmart got this in the first place.. you would think a place like BB would of got it.. matter a fact you would think EVERY store would get it if i was informed via forums i would be incredibly pissed if i bought the normal bluray then found out a store was selling one with imax scenes

I went to the Wal-Mart closest to me (I'm in the Southwest side of Houston), and it wad $19.xx each and every time. I went on release day and a few times during the week after 'cos some people asked me to pick it up. I didn't want to bother wasting $2.50+ per gallon in gas to save just a few dollars more. There were also plenty the last time I went (Friday evening).

What's the point of a "hidden" sale price anyway? If it's not advertised, then who's going to rush out to buy it? And for those of us whose Walmarts don't have the low price, why would we pay more? This is why Marketing people should all be shot.

Re: Transformers 2 (IMAX Version) $13.00 at Wal-Mart YMMV
In my limited Wal-Mart experience, it's tended to be WM stores in highly competitive retail areas that offer the better prices. In one city I lived in, the WM with no other stores nearby had the typical release price on Tuesday while another WM not very far away was near a Best Buy and K-Mart and would always have more heavily discounted release day prices than the other store. YMMV as far as that goes too though. I live in a fairly moderately sized city now and the 2 WM stores don't really compete that much over price. Target will beat them a lot of the time. Maybe those of you lucky enough to happen on the sub$15 price could elaborate on the nearby competition if any.
