Re: Amazon: Transformers 2 $19.99
Apparently, there's really only about 1 minute or so of "extra" footage that is IMAX-sized. However, just going by the majority of comments from the Transformers 2 Megathread over on the Blu-Ray forums, even that little bit is worth taking whatever trouble to get the IMAX version from Walmart. Some of the general sentiment about IMAX scenes (PQ) from that thread: "The picture quality is unbelievable" ...... "I have never seen anything that looks that amazing on my Kuro!" ...... "This is the first time in a while I have been blown away by the pq of a blu ray" ...... "The Forest Battle in IMAX on this Blu-Ray edition...literally, the most ridiculous and visually spectacular sequence I have in my Blu-Ray collection".
The only thing is the aspect ratio does tend to jump about a bit (between the main 2.39:1 and IMAX 1.85:1), which could prove distracting, but the forest fight scene (longest and most impressive IMAX scene) apparently stays mostly in 1.85:1 with only a brief jump to 2.39:1 when Bumblebee joins the fray.

I heard the same complaint when The Dark Knight came out and it's ridiculous. Yes, on the scale of an IMAX screen the jump is distracting because we're talking a difference in feet. But on the scale of a home screen, the difference is just inches and hardly noticeable.
Good to know.

I just saw this movie yesterday for the first time since 3 young kids and movie theater do not mix when it was released, LOL, and I found it highly entertaining. I do not know why many were b*tchin how terrible this movie was. Given it is not academy award material but I found it funny and a great action ride.

I picked up my Big Screen Edition at walmart today, but was surprised to see no mention of the word IMAX anywhere. I know it's the IMAX version, so why aren't they using that word?
