re: Walmart / walmart.com discounts and deals on Blu-ray

I have now been in 2 different Walmart's in my area, and when I was looking through the selection of the $8 blu's an employee "informed" me that all those movies are going to be $4 during black friday and mentioned about their price-matching until Christmas. Not sure how true it is, but thought I would mention it on here. Found it odd that this happened in 2 different stores now.

Got The Crow with coupon and 10% discount. $6 plus tax.

No luck on Mimic though. Only place I seen it was at BB and even with coupon it would have been 17 bucks. Even The Crow at BB was 20 bucks. They got some balls charging double on cheap movies.

Mimic was either $5 or $10 after trade-up coupon last week (can't remember which) and The Crow is $12 this week at BB...I mean, you still got a better deal, but the sticker price is not necessarily the actual price...

You mean there are no Blu-Ray coupons on this site right now. I see some DVD ones, but I don't think most of us care about DVD any more. :-) Sadly these sites pull coupons and put new ones (or sometimes the same old ones) at any moment without warning. I've also learned that sometimes some coupons sites (like coupons.com in particular) will show no coupons when in fact the problem is that the browser or flash version is not the latest update of the microsecond.

(I say microsecond because I get sick of Adobe Flash Player bugging me what seems like daily or weekly for updates. I don't know any other program besides virus checkers that update that often... or maybe it's because I use different computers and between them it seems like I'm always updating Adobe Flash Player and have come to hate it, but it's required to view most web pages now.)

Actually it is the ACTUAL Price. You cant count trade ups because not eveyone does or knows about it. SO if you didnt trade in last week you would have paid 20 for it. And if you bought The Crow next week or last week you would pay 20 bucks, just like you would with Mimic this week.. So they are charging double for them.

re: Walmart / walmart.com discounts and deals on Blu-ray

Can anyone who's picked up either the Hellboy or Ghost Rider Blu-ray/DVD combo pack tell me which version of the movies are on the DVD? I believe the blu-rays have the extended/director's cuts, but I'm curious if the DVDs have the same version, or if they have the theatrical cut. Thanks.

Noticed the $8 Blu Ray bin was already gone in my local Wal-mart this week. A shame, too, as it seemed like they just put it out, and there were still a few titles I was hoping to pick up.

re: Walmart / walmart.com discounts and deals on Blu-ray

I'd think this was a good bargain at Walmart that I saw there earlier tonight they had the Tom & Jerry Cartoon Collection Blu Ray for $22.99.

Spent a good couple of minutes agonizing about buying that one.

re: Walmart / walmart.com discounts and deals on Blu-ray

Saw the following 4-movie blu-ray sets at Wal-Mart yesterday for $10 each:

Children of the Corn (III-IV-V-666)
Hellraiser (IV-V-VI-VIII)
From Dusk Till Dawn (I-II-III-Full Tilt Boogie)

Not a bad deal, four movies for $10, but they're still Echo Bridge pieces of shit. I think they might be all four films on a single disc, so they're probably compressed to hell.

According to bfads.net today, WalMart is revealing their ENTIRE Black Friday ad tonight at 12EST. I guess they got tired of the sites like bfads leaking them every year to the public so they are doing it themselves. Hoping for some $4 blus this year If not, will settle for another year of $5 ones if they are some good titles, last year was not too shabby.

Some good stuff there last year but holy hell, I got there at 10 and by the time I got to the back of the store most of the good stuff was already gone. INSANE.

I must have lucked out. Most of the walmarts I went to had every good deal still available in video. Some of them even lasted a few weeks after BF, complete with their low prices.

It's Echo Bridge. They burned all movies on one BLUE DVD, and called it good enough.

Echo Bridge audio. Now supporting super-clear and crisp 5Kbps Stereo!

$16.96 on the backpage for Lion King, Cars 2 and Pirates 4 combo packs (non-3D) too. Nothing too exciting for me this year since it looks like I actually have all the sale blus. Hopefully there's more not pictured.

re: Walmart / walmart.com discounts and deals on Blu-ray

Agreed, the $5 blu's they have listed I already have what I want. However in the middle of the page it does say "more titles available", so they show I'm guessing half of the $5 blus avaiable. At my Walmart it was pretty civil and in regards to Blu's there was NO rush needed. I got to browse them with no worry. I was actually at the checkout line with the titles I wanted, and there was still almost a couple titles of each $5 Blu still avaialable even after being unwrapped from the pallet for about an hour.

I'm hoping some titles like The Crow might pop up in the $5 titles. We'll have to wait and see. Hopefully Target/Best Buy have some better titles listed.

I don't see "More titles available" on either of the links.

It's in the actual ad. Just go to walmart.com and view your local ad. BD/DVD page is on page 10-11.

re: Walmart / walmart.com discounts and deals on Blu-ray

Last year, at least the 24-hour store was open on Thanksgiving and started the sale at midnight. I got there at 11:30 and they had the pallets wrapped up so you could see what was in them, then as soon as the clock hit 12:00 we got to grab at them. Looks like they have a lot of the same stuff from last year in this year's ad though.
