Picked up Transformers 2 (2 disc Big Screen Edition complete w/ slipcase) at WallyWorld today for $10. Not a great movie, but a good price.

Nice pickup on transformers 2! Can anyone else confirm this price as well? I'd like get one at that price as well but don't have a close wal mart to me unfortunately and will have to wait until I visit family next week that has a wal mart there.

Can any price be a good price if it's not a good movie? It's a rhetorical question....

Same here.

None of the $6 titles at all in my local Wal-Mart.

Bought these this morning..

The Arrival
The Relic
Near Dark
Haunting In Connecticut

I'm planning on going back for Hard Rain. Is it worth the purchase?

Yes, Hard Rain is worth the $6. I bought the DVD for $5 a long time ago & I still don't regret it.

I'll take your word for it and go get it tomorrow. Thanks!

I'd buy Hard Rain on BD for $6 considering it had some good action and the old DVD was non-anamorphic. However, the trick with Walmart (mine at least) is actually finding it in stock since nobody there ever knows where anything is in electronics and anything good is sold out right away if it happens to make it to my Walmart. All I know is when I was there last week and looked for this display, I sure didn't see it. I don't go there any more for movies because that's always a disappointment. I only go to Walmart when buying non-electronics stuff and if I have 5-10 minutes I scan electronics and walk out of there empty-handed 99% of the time. On very rare occasion I even catch a glimpse of a Walmart employee in electronics while I'm there... sort of like a rare animal sighting.

For some reason Hard Rain was ringing up for $8 at my local Wally World. I got Cujo and Near Dark for $6 apiece though. Tried to explain to the cashier that I got all three from the same display that was marked $6. She said someone must have moved it there from another section. "All 12 copies?" I said. Blank stare. Do they really get THAT many folks trying to lie about something being $2 cheaper?

Stopped by tonight and they had empty slots for tomorrow's releases. AI - $15, Taxi Driver - $13, Batman: Return of the Joker - $15, Fiddler on the Roof - $18 (IIRC), Tron $25-60 depending on which version IIRC.

In a word: yes.

I've seen people at Wally World get into shouting matches at the register over a 20-cent discrepancy on a sale item.

High-end it ain't...

My store had lots of copies of Hard Rain in the $6 display that rang up $8 as well. I didn't want to take the chance of having the price adjusted at the register so I put it back.

Grabbed "WAY OF THE GUN" (2000) instead, only title in the box I didn't already have, and even for $6 I didn't feel like upgrading any of them from DVD.

I would have had them walk to the back and see that this was indeed in the $6 bin -- all 12 copies. WM is pretty good about stuff like this and they have price-adjusted stuff for me without even taking the time to verify it.

The cover for Hard Rain might be on the $6 display box for easy verification also.

How does the 3D look, with the glasses included, for My Bloody Valentine ?

I guess I don't have to go to Walmart for Hard Rain BD since I found it on clearance for $4.50 at Ultimate Electronics.

Great! I'm happy you finally found a store that you have good luck in and doesn't always screw you over. I hope it's around a long time so that you...ummmm, never mind.

Not very good, but worth 6 bucks IMO. The 3D itself is OK, but colors don't work well with the red/cyan glasses, especially when the movie is pretty dark to begin with. What sucks is I have a 3D TV now, so want to see the real 3D version, but I don't want to double dip for the high price the 3D version goes for... Perhaps someday...
