Might have to stop by Costco at lunch today. And not just for that awesome BBQ Brisket sandwich they sell there now.

Saw several but not all Criterions mentioned at Costco. Now I am going to have search multiple locations.

Re: Costco discounts and deals on Blu-ray

I got a Costco Connection in my mail today and there is an article about Criterion. It states that Costco currently offers 19 Criterion titles. No mention of prices. I hope they do not go and have a coupon now that I bought one. And its Criterion 30th anniversary

Of the four Hichcock Criterions (The Man Who Knew Too Much, The 39 Steps, The Lady Vanishes, Foreign Correspondent) is the best to get if you're a casual fan of later Hitch stuff?

If they have a coupon, buy it and return it with your first receipt. Costco does not have a time limit on returns for movies.

I've put the ones I think answer your question in bold.

Re: Costco discounts and deals on Blu-ray

I also saw the Criterion version of Charade for $19.99.

North by Northwest is almost a remake of the 39 Steps. Of the Criterion Hitchcock films at Costco it is my favorite but really you can't go wrong with any of them. I think they are all prime Hitchcock. Foreign Corespondent is more like his English films than Rebecca made before it or all his 1950's films.

In Fort Worth, TX, I saw, in addition to all of the above:

Seven Samurai
Fantastic Mr. Fox

Edit: I guess those were mentioned on the previous page. Such a newb.

Suspicion is not out on blu. I think wmhgreen48 meant Rebecca/Spellbound.

Re: Costco discounts and deals on Blu-ray

I saw James Bond Triple Features for I believe $16.99 each.

2 Sean Connery sets which cover all his films. (Dr. No / From Russia with Love / Goldfinger)
and (Thunderball / You Only Live Twice / Diamonds Are Forever)
1 Pierce Brosnan set (Goldeneye / The World Is Not Enough / Die Another Day)
1 Daniel Craig set which cover all his films to date. (Casino Royale / Quantum of Solace / Skyfall)

I saw nothing for Roger Moore at my Costco.

Nutty Professor (Jerry Lewis) Big Box Gift Set - $32.99

The Nutty Professor Ultimate Collector's Edition $32.99. I am not a fan, but it has some interesting stuff like cutting script and storyboard book reproductions.

Re: Costco discounts and deals on Blu-ray

Milo, I can't recall if I saw them at the Niles, IL location, but I did see some at Barnes and Noble. Check price online, as these are the last days of the 40% off blu-ray sale.

Incidentally, retail on The Nutty Professor is $50, so Barnes is the best deal right now. Sale ends tomorrow.

All the "wrong man" films have similar story lines. North by Northwest is just the pinnacle of the lot, combining the love interest of Young and Innocent, the travel aspects/national monument aspects of Saboteur with the spy aspects of The 39 Steps.

It's been a couple weeks since I was there, but the Pentagon City location had all the Wes Andersons, all the Hitchcocks, Mad etc. World, Frances Ha, Blowout, and Harold and Maude.

I was hoping for Seven Samurai since I loaned out my copy and it was never seen again. No such luck.

If any Hitchcock fans haven't seen Foreign Correspondent, definitely check it out. It's been kind of forgotten over the years, but it's a safe blind buy for any fans of The 39 Steps or North by Northwest.
