Re: blue rays 2 for 25 PV blockbuster

No Role Models I could find. Probably too new.

Picked up:
Step Brothers
Forgetting Sarah Marshall
Zack and Miri Make a Porno
The Mummy 3 (FYI this does not include the DVD that had a few extras and the digial copy of the film)
Tropic Thunder
Walk Hard

Unfortunately I missed that Walk Hard had a huge crack in the disc near the spindle (guess its not just Netflix this happens to) so that one has to go back tomorrow.

Re: blue rays 2 for 25 PV blockbuster

My local store has it going, but I couldn't justify spending the money right now. If it was 2 for $20, I'd be all over it like woah.

Re: blue rays 2 for 25 PV blockbuster

I was talking with the clerks who sold Hellboy to me during checkout and I believe that Iron Man and Dark Knight are two-disc (Indy 4 should be too, but I bought all three of those at retail long ago). A clerk at another BB close to my home didn't know for sure, but speculated that BB sent rental product minus the 2nd disc. What's odd is that the case art lists the extras, but not that there is a 2nd disc containing it. Since it's missing the advertised content, he think the other store should allow me to exchange it (too bad they don't have anything else like Zack & Miri Porn) and if they don't, he'll take care of it.

Picked up Serenity and Hancock at the latter store. Serenity was priced at $24.99! The other place had the Die Hard Collection (1-4) set as a PPV in the original blue case for....$119.99!!! What a bargain! I was thinking of paying $70.99 at Amazon, but this is so much better!!!!11!!eleven!11!!

I have all three of the Blu-Ray discs you mentioned and I will confirm they all have a second disc of extras (which you also mentioned)

Usually Blockbuster will pull the second disc on their SD copies, as they usually contain just the Digital Copy. Wonder if that sort of thinking is why their distributors are sending single discs of multi-disc sets.

Re: blue rays 2 for 25 PV blockbuster

To clarify, we were talking about whether BBV's copies came with the second discs. darkside upthread said that Mummy 3 didn't come with the 2nd disc. Did you get yours PPVed or new-at-retail?

I got mine new on release.

Though I thought the question you asked in one of your posts, was if the Hellboy Blu-Ray was 1 or 2 discs in general. So I answered it.

I'm really not sure what was confusing about my last post. I used the SD PVD's at BBV as an example of how BBV might be getting shipped multi-disc sets with only the first disc. Usually they are pretty good at getting 2-discs, but if the trend for even SD's is to have a second disc as a Digital Copy, (as I mentioned) I wonder if their distributors are thinking the same for their Blu-Ray stock.

Re: blue rays 2 for 25 PV blockbuster

I swapped out my broken Walk Hard disc and bought four more today. This is probably it for me.

Picked up:
Pineapple Express
Juno
Unbreakable
Batman Gotham Knight

Pineapple Express and Juno are missing the 2nd disc which was just the digital copy and this is expected. Not a bad deal and I caught up on several movies I wanted that I just wasn't willing to pay $20+ for.

Re: blue rays 2 for 25 PV blockbuster

I took Hellboy back and they didn't have anything I wanted to exchange it for, so they refunded me the full sticker price! I paid $12.50+tax and they gave me $16.99+tax back.

I went to another store and they had Seth and Liz Make Smut....but nothing else I wanted to spend that much on. D'oh! I would've gladly exchanged BH2 for that, but nooooooooooooooo! Drat.

I really hate not having a corporate Blockbuster anywhere in my area.

Re: blue rays 2 for 25 PV blockbuster

The Lawrence, MA store had a few titles, but I had much better luck in North Andover. They probably had 20-30 different titles available. I picked up four:

Dark Knight (with 2 discs!)
Hellboy 2
Tropic Thunder
Forgetting Sarah Marshall

Thanks for posting. I haven't been to my local Blockbuster in years, but I stopped in and picked up both National Treasure movies. I've been wanting them for a while.

Re: blue rays 2 for 25 PV blockbuster

The whole case thing is a deal breaker for me. I hate those BB rental cases. They rarely close correctly and look just god awful on the shelf. Ive got a small place so they are on display and not hidden away.

Anyone in south LA or north OC know of a BB that doesnt have these sale disks in the rental cases? It doesnt even look like they have the proper inserts and covers if i did want to get a bluray case on my own.

Surprised to see that my Blockbuster had Twilight as part of the 2 for $25. Wanted to pick up both of the National treasures, but sadly, they didn't have part 1.

I went to a different location today and saw Twilight. Surprisingly, I went to a location where the manager and employees were very talkative and friendly, so I asked their opinions on movies that I haven't seen and went from there (they both told me that Twilight was geared towards teenage girls?!). I also thought to ask about to 2-disc editions, because I don't want a single disc from a 2-disc set. I ended up with Lakeview Terrace and Get Smart, two blind buys for me.

Star Wars: Clone Wars
Incredible Hulk
Kung Fu Panda
Stuck
PS I Love You
Bank Job
Forbidden Kingdom
Iron Man
House Bunny
Before The Devil Knows You Are Dead
The Ruins

Re: blue rays 2 for 25 PV blockbuster

Newest titles I've seen as part of the sale:

Slumdog Millionaire
The Wrestler (jacket says "Rental Exclusive" on the bottom)
Seven Pounds
Quantum of Solace
a horror title I'd never heard of (cover is a closeup of a woman's face with shocked eyes)

I wanted Slumdog and Seven Pounds after reading your post, but my Blockbuster had neither in stock. I saw 'The Visitor' and really wanted that, but I saw no other title worth purchasing. I got burned after buying 'Get Smart' and 'Lakeview Terrace', so I am done throwing my money away and only want to buy movies that I really want to see.

I found both Milk and Changeling this past Friday and picked them up.

In the last two weeks, I picked up: Changeling, Milk, Lakeview Terrace, Leatherheads, Get Smart and Nick and Norah. Chances are I'll stop in another store this weekend.
