Part three can be found here.

Let's not derail this thread. It should be for bargains and discussion of said bargains. Thanks.

OK, let's get this thread back on track! I have a deal-- but it's restricted a bit. This is for Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist (BD):

1) You need to be a member of Sony Rewards (www.sonyrewards.com)
2) It will help if you have a Sony Rewards credit card. There are point restrictions otherwise.

There's info around here and on other sites that explains Sony rewards in detail. I am mainly posting this for those who already use the Sony rewards website, as it makes the deal easier to obtain.

Nick and Norah is 4,095 points ($40.95) on Sony rewards. Those who play the Wheel Watchers game daily and have achieved Jackpot status by solving 12 puzzles/ month (the puzzle answers are obtained by watching the final round of wheel of fortune on tv) get 15% off. On top of that, Sony is giving an extra discount, making the blu-ray come down to 2,699 pts. In addition, coupon code nickandnorah knocks the point total down to 1,699 pts ($16.99). Shipping and tax are included and points can be purchased if you don't have enough to cover the item.

The main downside of buying via Sony Rewards is shipping time. It can take 2 weeks for something to ship.

I'm not sure I understand the first part with the Wheel Watchers business, but the movie is coming up at 2699 for me, and the coupon is working to knock it down to 1699.

Perhaps the discount is overriding the wheel watchers one in this case. I thought the discount went on top of the 15% off from wheel watchers jackpot, but perhaps it's 2,699 regardless of having wheel watchers jackpot.

Either way, this can help you in the future. Each day, you can enter the final wheel puzzle under the wheel watchers heading. Solutions are available at http://www.jimpettis.com/wheel/ in case you don't watch wheel. Keep plugging in answers and eventually you'll unlock the discount. Plus, you earn 10 pts with each puzzle. You can also do the Sony Television trivia question each day for 10 pts.

It seems like the nickandnorah coupon doesn't work anymore.

Just tested it and it still works for me.* Perhaps one must register for the Blu-ray Club. I don't remember if there was a separate registration or activation. Do you have a profile 2.0 compatible player and a Sony BD disc that has BD-Live? If you do, register the disc and then see if the coupon works.

*I haven't decided if I want this movie or not-- haven't seen it.

I just signed up for Sony Rewards and the Blu-Ray club, and the coupon nickandnorah does not work for me.

I'd grab it for $5 then. Better than waiting for a $20 Blu-ray you might not like.

I'd say go for it. It's a solid film with a good transfer and extras, plus a True HD track.

 Thank you for this. I just picked it up for $5 total after using some points that built up over the last month.

Don't know if anyone is in the market for a BD ROM drive, but I came across this deal at Buy.com:

Sony Internal Blu-Ray Drive - Internal SATA Blu-Ray BD-ROM Reader Drive BDU-X10S, Factory Refurbished - BDU-X10S-R $89.99

That doesn't seem like anything special, as there are new drives available for around $100 regularly on NewEgg.

The LG dual BD/HD DVD drive is typically $99 or so at Fry's as well for those that want to play both formats. Not sure if there are any major differences or not between the PC drives as I've never used them before.
