I think it wore out it's welcome a couple of years ago, but even before that, it was only mildly amusing. John Lithgow was very good, however.

I stopped watching a while ago because they were on opposite of two other shows that I felt were better. I did really enjoy it when it first came on, but then, I don't know, it lost it's charm.

I always thought 3rd Rock was really funny, but I was never compelled to watch it. I'd always go for something "better" if it was on at the same time, which unfortunately there always was.

I couldn't stand all those weird dream sequence-style episodes.
I agree with JohnPhoenix... when I happened to catch it, I usually thought it was kind of funny, but I never made it a point to sit down and watch the show.

I've only seen upto Season 4, so I've got a few more series to enjoy yet. Or at least I hope so, as I've heard it got really poor in it's final run.
But from what I've seen so far, it's an above average sitcom. And the leggy blonde is a cool bonus.
BTW anyone know if the guy & girl who played Tommy & Alyssa were a couple in real life?

I'm kinda disappointed, but the newer ones aren't very funny so it doesn't matter much. I must admit the first ~5 times I saw the show I thought it was just okay, but after a while I grew a great appreciation for the very clever and witty writing and mostly fabulous cast (Lithgow is goddamn hilarious). There were quite a few episodes and many many scenes in 3rd Rock that I have to say were some of the funniest I've ever seen in a sitcom. So yeah, I thought it was a really good show, and I heard it even got a couple emmy's or something (I think). However, the past season or two it's gotten kind of repetitive and the show has wore off its charm. But I think some people just look at it and see a 'stupid' show about aliens from outer space with overly-zaney characters, but the concept of the show made for some pretty good and darn-right funny plots and scenes, and the show has a lot of really funny and well-developed characters perfectly casted.
I always thought Alyssa was pretty cute too.

Well, at first I thought the show was stupid and didn't watch it. But then I actually saw one and thought it was funny. Lithgow makes that show. But I haven't been following it lately. They had some weird shows set in alternate past or something. Are those the dream show? I hate that kind of stuff.

I'm glad, i never liked the show. and sitting through the re-runs on fox waiting for the simpsons to come on was a pain (they aired the older episodes in syndication before the simpsons syndication)
