Just a question, but does Amazon ship the DVD so that you receive it on the day that it is released? Like Gladiator 2000 for example.

It seems to depend on who (and where) you are. I got my M:I2 on Wednesday by UPS. And I didn't pay for upgraded shipping.

Amazon's normal policy is to ship a disc on the Monday before the Tuesday street date. How long it takes to get to you depends on the the shipping hub from which it is sent (and its proximity to you).

For me, it tends to be Wed or Thurs for all of my preorders.

Not the best, but their CSR's more than make up for the slow shipping times.

I usually get it next day after the ship date. Living nearing a shipping hub has some perks

Amazon has Gladiator on hand right now, but
of course, they won't send it out until,
usually, the day before release date.
Argh!
But free is free, so I really can't complain.

While we are on the subject of amazon shipping - does anyone know what I can add onto an order for $0.18? I am trying to take advantage of their free shipping offer for orders of $100 and over.

Out of my six Amazon pre-orders, four were shipped the day before release, one was shipped on release date, and one was shipped 12 days after release date.

Of those six orders, I've received three on release date, one the day after release date, one two days after, and I'm still waiting for the one that was shipped 12 days later...

Got my Fantasia Anthology on release date today.

Most of my stuff comes out of Reno, NV... which is 1-2 days from most of Central California.

Where else do they have hubs? I heard they had a facility in Delaware... this true?

Yep, almost all of my orders ship from there usually in 1-2 days, almost always upgraded complimentarily.

My last two orders for items that "usually ship" within 24 hours took 8 days to ship.

Both were in stock and my order history showed "shipping soon" for 7 days in a row.

I also had preordered the Honeymooners months ago and noticed last week (prior to the release date) that the price had dropped. Normally I'd simply cancel the original order and reorder it under the cheaper price but I couldn't because I had used a promo GC that has since expired.

I phoned them asking for the lower price and they said they'd email me a $5 GC. Eight days later I'm still waiting.

Also I referred 8 friends last month who placed their first orders with Amazon and had the items ship but I never received my referral GC's and my email to them about this has gone unanswered.

I sure wish Jaboom offered GC's to another store besides Amazon but free is free so I'm stuck with them.

They also have a shipping hub at Coffeyville, KS. Most standard shipments arrive the next business day with USPS. Maybe that's because it's very close to me (NE), but because of this situation, 2nd Day Air makes no sense for me. I would pay more but get the shipment later...
BTW: my MI:2 arrived on Wednesday (shipped on Tuesday, as my preorders always were).
