Arrow (S6E11) -- "We Fall" -- 1/25/18

THURSDAY, JANUARY 25

ARROW

"We Fall" - (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET) (TV-14, LV) (HDTV)

WILLIAM LANDS IN CAYDEN JAMES' CROSSHAIRS - Cayden James (guest star Michael Emerson) ups the ante by launching his plan to take control of every aspect of the city. Despite the scope of Cayden's plan, Oliver (Stephen Amell) is determined to foil it with just the Original Team Arrow - and without the aid of Rene (Rick Gonzalez), Dinah (Juliana Harkavy), or Curtis (Echo Kellum). But things get complicated when William (guest star Jack Moore) is endangered as a result of Cayden's handiwork. Wendey Stanzler directed the episode written by Speed Weed & Spiro Skentzos (#611). Original airdate 1/25/2018.

Apparently Arrow’s editors failed to notice a little continuity error tonight. This is 3 straight scenes with Stephen tonight.

Re: Arrow (S6E11) -- "We Fall" -- 1/25/18

So I finished the episode late last night and they definitely shot the scenes out of order not realizing Amell and his disappearing and re-appearing facial hair. The final scene where Oliver went to Thea and told her to wire the money to Cayden James, his scruff came back again.

At least in this episode they got rid of the whole stupid thing of trying to keep Oliver's identity as Arrow again a secret from William. Unlike most TV kids, I don't find William annoying, but that's probably because they use him in such small doses.

The little confrontation between Oliver and Cayden James in his office was a great scene. Emerson is really good playing a nemesis to him.

There must have been some last-minute changes to last week's episode as well that didn't seem fully accounted for by this episode. Just last episode Vigilante had laid the smackdown on Black Canary pretty hard, way more than necessary if he was simply deep undercover as revealed this episode. Black Canary had already forgiven him by the end of this episode.

That is the danger when filming multiple episodes at once out of sequence.

I wouldn't mind seeing Black Canary and Vigilante get their own spin-off. Since Green Arrow is already taken in this continuity, those two can romantically pair up.

Watched tonight - did I catch a Lost gag? Sounded like Cayden James gave his name as "Ben Gale" in the mayor's office (Linus/Henry).

You heard correctly. I guess only big Lost fans would catch that reference.

If Cayden James was such a genius would he have figured out that the evidence that Oliver killed his son was faked?

Ben Gale in the house! And Oliver finally has a superpower - manipulating his body hair on the fly! Emerson is really the only thing making this season watchable. The two teams shit needs to go away immediately.

Assuming a purely intellectual response, probably. But it seems likely he was acting from emotion and needed a target at which to direct it.
