Stretch -- D: Carnahan S: Wilson, Pine, Helms, Alba, Liotta
A friend gave me this movie. And I almost didn't at first. But put it on when I couldn't find anything else to watch. And I'm so glad I did. It was so entertaining and laugh out funny in many parts. I went online afterwards to read up on it. Interesting history. But I highly recommend you check it out.
From Wiki: Filming began in July 2013 and the film was originally set to be released on March 21, 2014. On January 21, 2014, the film's March release was scrapped by Universal Pictures, in what The Hollywood Reporter called "an apparently unprecedented move." The film's producer, Jason Blum, was permitted to shop the film to other distributors. Having failed to strike a deal, the film reverted to Universal Pictures, where a source said the studio and filmmakers would explore "creative" options for releasing it. On September 25, the first official trailer was released.

This movie had so much potential, but it is wasted by a bad script. The acting is solid, but most of the jokes don't work. I wanted to like it because I like the Director's other movies, but I was so let down.
** out of ****
Also, this is available on Netflix along with the two other movies that got screwed in the same deal with Universal. The other two movies are Not Safe for Work (one of the worst movies of the year) and Mockingbird (I plan on watching this over the weekend)

I liked most of this. There were some REALLY funny parts.
I feel like it could have been saved in the editing room. A lot of the music didn't fit together. The startup scenes were overdone. Other than Arrested Development, voiceovers haven't work in a very long time.

I thought this was hilarious and awesome. Deserved to be a big hit like The Hangover and Horrible Bosses 'cause it was better than both.

This movie is mostly well done, it's humorous and the eccentric energy to it is fun. Worth the watch on Netflix.
It's nowhere near as funny or broadly appealing as Hangover and is a bit odd so I don't think it ever would have been a huge hit, but it's definitely a fun flick that deserved a formal release.

Pine was unrecognizable until the orgy. Out of curiosity, why was he uncredited? I've never seen somebody in such a big role end up uncredited, and the ending outtakes sort of solidified he enjoyed making the flick. I'm assuming his agent had his name pulled when the movie went straight to video, or he did it for free for his buddy Carnahan.
They did a good job with a $5m budget.
Also, probably the best acting the Hoff has done:

The most memorable thing in this movie was Helms' character.
Carnahan should take another stab at a movie like this. It was a unique misfire

Damn. Just saw this on Netflix. I fucking loved it. It was a lot of fun. A bit weak in some form but really well done. Funny and cool little flick.

I watched this last night. It was fun, helped that Patrick Wilson was the lead as I'm a fan of his. Dug the rest of the cast too. It was completely over the top and didn't take itself seriously at all. I gave it 3 stars.
I hope Carnahan makes another movie one day that lives up to Narc.

Figured this was worth a bump. As posted in the Last Movie saw thread, thought this was hilarious. Probably my favorite amongst Carnahan's films.
