Looking forward to tonight's show. It should be a lighthearted episode to follow up the really heavy (and somewhat dark) episode last week.
I'm glad it got renewed, although had it not I think the way this season is ending would have been an acceptable wrap up to the series.

Wow. I didn't see that coming.
That was totally unexpected. I thought they were going for the happy ending. They may yet get to that happy ending (during sweeps, probably), but this definitely puts a twist on things that I really didn't see coming. Kudos to Andrew Marlowe for coming up with a plot development that came out of the blue.
Good thing the show got renewed.
Well, on to Season 7 and the conclusion to this cliffhanger...

The whole cliffhanger thing takes me back to Star Trek The Next Generation or Stargate SG-1 and the cliffhangers they'd do. Waiting 3 or 4 months for the conclusion to a story is annoying, but understandable given the need for viewers/ratings.
Usually you'd expect the cliffhangers on those shows, but this one came out of the blue. It seemed like it was going to be the UNusual happy ending mostly wrapped up in the current season.
That wasn't the case...

Wow I didn't see that ending coming. The comedy of errors in the episode were hilarious and now we have to wait months to find out what happened to Castle and who caused it.

Who wants to bet Castle's dad is somehow involved in this?

You should see the comments on the Castle facebook page - about 3/4 of the hardcore fans are apoplectic over the ending!
While it would have been nice (and a break with conventional wisdom) to NOT have a cliffhanger for once, as this one came out of the blue and was a genuine surprise I'm kind of happy with it.
The real question is, how many more seasons does this show have left? Early on Fillion mentioned that he liked how a lot of British series ran 3 or 4 seasons and just ended before they could decline in quality. He hinted that five seasons would be a good number for this show. Well, we're going into Season 7 and the show is still written and produced at a high quality level, but how long can that last?
Bones dropped off significantly in Season 8 (some episodes were almost unwatchable), but rebounded nicely in Season 9 (this current season).
It will be interesting to see how much farther this show goes. It seems like there are 3 landmarks the show should hit by the end of it's run - the wedding, putting away 3XK, and, possibly, another Castle kid (which would be a great way to end the series - Beckett gets promoted to Captain, and then has the baby). Once those events take place there isn't anything major for them to do. So given that, I can see an end after Season 8. That's what I'd be planning if I were Andrew Marlowe.

That was great. One of the few storylines revolving around the wedding I really enjoyed. I don't see this going much further. I already miss the good old days of sexual tension and the will they/won't they scenarios. They're running out of things for the supporting characters to do. His mother and Alexis might get another arc but they've been window dressing much of this season.

It felt like a lift from the season three ending of Downton Abbey, except there is no suspense b/c they're not going to kill Castle. To me doing this is just a waste of time.

I was behind a few weeks, but finally finished the season tonight including the finale. I did not see that ending coming. Was expecting Kate and Castle to get married with a clean ending. Obviously Castle was abducted. I think it may have something to do with either Bracken or his Dad. Will have to wait until September.
For the most part, it was a fun quirky episode. Liked seeing Eddie McClintock from Warehouse 13 here as Kate's ex.
This show is heading into it's 7th season, but I think creatively it's still going strong. The strongest points have always been Kate and Castle's relationship along with the supporting cast. I also look at the show as a weekly mystery novel with some serialized arcs as opposed to a generic cop procedural. Seems like those who don't know about the show think it's some bland cop show, which is so not the case. Anyways another solid Castle season is in the books.

It's a more procedural version of Moonlighting.
IMO, the show ran out of gas creatively a few seasons ago. I still watch soley b/c of Fillion's charm.
