As brief as it was, as short as he looked, and as funny as his lines were, I believe that's the real Jay Leno. Which would exactly be the reason why Louie would say no to the Letterman deal.
And I have to think the Hollywood sign spelling his name wrong was on purpose. (He's Louie on TV, as a real comedian he's Louis.)

Carlos Mencia is still around? His name was on the sign at the beginning of the show.
Surprised there is no show next week (Anger Management marathon) unless it is because of the Obama Democratic Convention Speech but then again Romney did the GOP Convention speech and this weeks show was not preempted.
Do not disturb lol

Jay Leno used to be in Louie's shoes: a guy who was basically THE guy in stand-up. Then he got the Tonight Show gig, and now he's basically just doing safe harmless stuff that's forgettable and not particularly funny (hence his "do airplane jokes" advice.)
Louie was asked to take over Letterman, but it's at the risk of turning into that: fame and fortune but turning into a shell of your former self.

so this is a 3-part episode, and now we have to wait 2 weeks just to see Part 2?? WTF
Also, I thought Jerry Seinfeld would be in the season finale, but I guess he'll be in either ep 11 or 12 now.
