How long before we see a movie about the roots of METALLICA - Dave Mustaine era?
I think this would make a great film - Metallica, when Megadeth's Dave Mustaine was still with the band, before they cut their first record. The drama behind how Hetfield and Ulrich fired Mustaine is good movie fodder, me thinks.
Much like the Beatles movie Backbeat, telling the story of the Beatles before they became "The Beatles," when Stuart Sutcliffe was a part of the band.

If anything, it seems like Cliff Burton's story would provide the drama. Mustaine has always struck me as just a little footnote in the band's history.

I'd like to see Gus Van Sant tackle this and still manage to find somewhere to work in an unnecessary gay sex scene.

Gus Van Sant's version would build up to the big firing scene, then switch to a slow 5 minute tracking shot of a house while the band fights inside. Artful.

Like a biopic? Because it's been a while, but I thought they covered most of the story in either "A year and a half in the life of" or "some kind of moster" or both. Again my memory is a bit fuzzy on it.

I want a movie where a terminator is sent back in time to kill James Hetfield before he can ruin the mix of ...And Justice For All.

I wouldn't mind seeing an "I'm Not There" type biopic. Works the music into a literal story and leave the "biography" on the outskirts.

i don't know about a Metallica movie, but I want to see a Motley Crue Movie based on "The Dirt", but has been in development for a pretty long time according to IMDB.

At the end of the movie, it can jump 20+ years and show them sitting around crying and talking about their feelings.
