Not exactly timely....wasn't Minority Report something like 10 years ago? But very funny. Definitely the best of the current set of eps so far.

But by their time it was like 1010 years ago. As long as it's a sci fi reference, I don't think the show really needs to be that timely.

I've really enjoyed all the new episodes this go around. Especially the one where Bender replicated himself.
I've got a guy at work saying "Hold on to your dookie, it's about to get spooky!" LOL
The Blu-ray was released fairly recently so it's not quite as dated as that. I watched it last week in fact and still think it's a pretty enjoyable flick.

Why do people question the timeliness of references in comedies? I'll never understand that. It's part of the culture, it can be referenced at any time. Did anyone question the episode where the Planet Express ship basically turned into HAL from 2001? "OMG, how timely...didn't 2001 come out like 30 years ago?!!1!"
People are always giving The Simpsons grief about this kind of thing. I don't get it. What's next, a Hitchcock reference? That'll blow their minds.

FYI:
This episode has references to Tron (1982), Minority Report (2001), and Avatar (2009), and most of the Police Academy films (except IV) among numorous other ones that are miniscule.
