Welcome to the club, lol. I like the non-stop action but damn if that boss just shuts me down. Definitely worth a rental.

This got a nice 8.5 review from IGN. Might check it out when it hits $40.

Kmart's got a deal with $20 coupon on future purchase and 30 bucks off a second game on the list, check the deals thread. I'm tempted to get the game this week because of the deal, but I'll need to do some research first...

I'm glad I rented. Seems like a cool game, but I spent an hour just trying to get past the first boss. I could get past his first phase no problem but not the second. How much trouble would I have going further even if I beat this guy? Can't believe it got a 9 from gamespot. I must just suck at these games. Kinda reminds me of Lost Planet. Probably going back to Family Video well before my 5 days are up.

I'll probably put this on my Christmas/Birthday List but I want to give the demo another shot first (and see if my Japanese XBL account is still active so I can download the second demo). It seems like a really crazy arcadey Gears of War.

Re: Vanquish -10/19/2010

I bit on the Kmart deal because I've been interesting in finding a good action-shooter. Picked this up with Enslaved for $90 and a $20 coupon in hand.

I always enjoy shooters but I'm never particularly very good at them. I'll let you know how it goes. After the demo, I was hooked. The game just looks so slick.

Also available in the B2G1F Amazon's having (and obviously Target's one as well), it's actually $50 at Amazon, so if you have other $50 games you want to pick up it'll come out slightly cheaper. Picked that up along with the new Time Crisis and (Pixy will like this) Y's 7 LE.

I really liked the demo, but it seemed a little too intense for me over the long haul.

I enjoyed it til I got my ass handed to me (also on the second phase) of the first boss. It's his damn laser that gets me every time. I want to play more but even on casual it's kicking my ass. Glad it was only $20.

An hour trying to get past the first boss? Seriously???? Some people are not made for certain types of games I guess.

I finally picked this up thru the Toys R US sale. The first quarter to first half of the game you spend getting use to the controls and style of play. From about the halfway point on....this game is incredible!!! It easily deserves the 8.5 from IGN...

I believe I am currently at the end as I am facing a huge....very tough boss so I will take him out later today.

Buy this game if you have not already. I believe Amazon had this for around $25.00.

I didn't make a follow up comment later but should have. I did finally get past that first boss and ended up loving the game. Played it all the way through to the end. Strangely enough, I didn't have much trouble with the difficulty after that first boss. I retract what I said about the review score being to high.

Sometimes we all think too hard when trying to get past a boss instead of simply playing and letting the inevitable happen in killing the boss. Been there done that....

I would say from about the halfway mark on....this is one of the best games out there right now in terms of gameplay.

Finished this the other night. Not a bad little game at all, once you get past the ridiculous "Halo meets 9/11" storyline and the voice acting which at one point turns into who can growl the loudest.

Re: Vanquish -10/19/2010

It seems that Sega is releasing a remaster of the 2010 third-person shooter Vanquish for Xbox One on February 18, 2020. There’s been no official announcement yet but the game is now listed on the Microsoft store (via ResetEra). The listing says that the game will have 4K graphics and run at 60fps on Xbox One X. The PC version of the game that was released back in 2017 also supported 4K 60fps.
