3. Jean Luc Godard- "Film Socialisme"
4. John Carpenter- "The Ward"
5. Whit Stillman-"Dancing Mood"

7. Werner Herzog- "My Son My Son What Have Ye Done" "The Cave"
8. Ridley Scott-"Alien Prequels"
9. The Coen Brothers- "True Grit"
10. Vincent Gallo-"Promises Written In Water"

honourable mentions:
Wong Kar Wai-'The Grand Master'
Davod Cronenberg "A Dangerous Method"
Andrew Dominik-"Cities Of The Plain"
Aaron Katz-"Cold Weather"

Re: Top 10 films your excited about, mainly because of the director.

Nice list.

I'll try not to dupe anything as I like most of those choices too.

Ramin Bahrani - Whatever he does I'm there. Possibly the most exciting director working today.
Ji-woon Kim - Whatever he does next.
Joon-ho Bong - Whatever he does next.
Nicholas Winding Refn - 'Only God Forgives', or whatever
Chris Nolan - Whatever he does next.
Takeshi Kitano - 'Outrage' or whatever.
Steven Soderbergh - 'And Everything Is Going Fine'
Johnnie To - 'Life Without Principle' or whatever.
Darren Aronofsky - 'Black Swan' or whatever.
Guillermo del Toro - Something he directs next, or produces.

Always excited for a new PTA film. I actually go to the theatres to watch his films... and I rarely go to the theatre.

Very interested in the new Malick film. If it's at TIFF this year, I'll make an attempt to get tickets for it.

So does the second sentence in the OP.

I would never have guessed a list like that given the spelling and grammar. I would have guessed Transformers 3. Shows what I know.

Anything by Scorsese, Tarantino, Nolan or the Coens tends to get me pumped. Most looking forward to:

I Heard You Paint Houses (Scorsese & Deniro mob flick) & Batman 3 in the coming years.

You're right! I didn't even read the first post, assuming it to be what you guessed. Nice list OP!

Is The Master supposed to be PTA's epic movie about Scientology? if so, then that's my next pick. I love all his movies.

Sorry to be a jerk, but let's not do the "Anything by ________________" picks you guys. That just turns this thread into "Favorite Directors".

I used to look forward to every post by Groucho, but now I'll just look forward to 'Post Where I'm Not a Jerk" by Groucho.

Sylvester Stallone...THE EXPENDABLES...he's just directing the greatest action movie that I've been dreaming about since I was 4 back in 1990.

Since no one has said it, I'll throw out the next Malick flick.

This and Green Lantern since Martin Campbell is pretty much the best modern action director (took that title from John McTiernan in 1995).
