help with SS2300 and S350 HDMI connection

Hi everyone. Hope someone can help me with this.
I just bought a S350 after deciding to get rid of my PS3 (since I only used it for watching movies). I have a SS2300 home theater set up.
When I run one HDMI cable from the BD player to the receiver, and another from the receiver to the TV (which is a Philips), the screen will flash for a second, and then go to "No Video Signal." When I plug the S350 directly into the TV, everything works fine. I should add that I never had this problem with the PS3 connecting to the receiver.
I've tired every combination of HDMI cables and nothing works when running it through the receiver. Can anyone please help?

Thanks,
R

Welcome to the wonderful world of hdmi.

If there is a handshake issue there is likely nothing anyone can do unless there is some type of future firmware update that you can apply to one or more of your devices.

I gave up on my issue and will just wait until I have to upgrade my equipment

I tried four different HDMI cables in various combinations. In every case, when connected directly to the TV, the BD worked fine, but when connected through the receiver, it wouldn't. Meanwhile, the PS3 and other components worked with the receiver just fine, using the same HDMI cables.
I spent two hours on tech support with Sony last night, getting passed from person to person. No one was able to help.
About three times during this long process, things randomly started to work, but as soon as I turned off the BD and receiver and turned them back on, the problem returned. So odd. Returning the player today; going to see if another one works.
