Silence of the Lambs question.

Does it have the colour palette of the recent MGM DVD collecters edition?

Practically. They're very close, but there are a few differences that peek out due to the broader color range available in high-definition -- like more pink-ish skin tones and somewhat less-glaring greens in sunlit exterior shots.

Re: Silence of the Lambs question.

I had the last MGM release DVD before upgrading to the BD last week and the BD disc is so much better. Not a ton of difference but the added clarity and better color are what sold me on it.

Re: Silence of the Lambs question.

I thought it was a worthy upgrade as well. Pretty good review by Tom Spurlin here:

Re: Silence of the Lambs question.

I own this movie on so many different media's (VHS, Laserdisc, two different DVDs (MGM barebones and the criterion), and now the blu-ray)... I can't believe I keep getting suckered in, but I found the "breaking the silence" feature to be one of the best special features I've sat through in awhile. It actually beats the commentary from the criterion disc IMO

Really!?! Hmm. I was going to get this release anyway, but I may have to reconsider holding onto the Criterion edition. Space is cramped enough and that commentary was the only reason I was holding onto it...
