IMO, the 676 is an excellent choice for a mid-priced HT receiver. It has all the basics (bananas, s-video, etc...) along with features like assignable digital inputs, channel pre-outs and a learning universal remote.
As far as price goes, a good price would be in the $550 to $650 range (taking into account things like shipping and taxes at the higher end of that range).

I know that a lot of people get the 676 from www.bestpriceaudiovideo.com. That is where I got mine from and they seem to be very reputable and have excellent customer sevice. Try giving them a call. I know that their price will be around $600 shipped.
