Problem with Amazon Marketplace Buyer
I sold a brand new DC Comics Encyclopedia that was in GREAT condition (everything perfect) to a Marketplace buyer. He received it Saturday and left good feedback today (4 out of 5: "thanx great buy "). The book was packed well with lots of protection.
Then... I get this email...
"ayo i should send this back its in terrible condition its not even new i should sue ya ass " ...yeah, a very courteous and professional emall...
I find it strange that he leaves feedback thanking me for the great buy and then all of a sudden it's in terrible condition and he thinks he should sue me. I feel sure he thinks he can con me into giving him a refund. What should I do? There is no way this is a differing perception thing. The book was just like it came out of a B&M...

Re: Problem with Amazon Marketplace Buyer
You're lucky you got good feedback. Now you have little to worry about. I believe on amazon you have to give a refund if they return it within 30 days. Tell them they must use delivery confirm if they want to and it has to be received in condition received. If it was wrapped in cellophane and they took it off. You dont have to accept a return. Except with media like dvd or cd which are defective. Then only offer a replacement copy.

Don't give him a refund or anything. He already left positive feedback and you can use that as your defense if he tries to file a claim against you. He is probably trying to keep to the book and get the money back.

Weird. I can't recall if it was on Amazon, but I got a strange email from somebody that bought something of mine - to the vague effect of "you'll get what you deserve for packing the item that way." (kinda reminded me of a fortune cookie ). Needless to say I just ignored the guy, he'd already left positive feedback, and never heard from him again. I did see in his feedback that another seller had complained that he was trying to haggle after the purchase by finding things to complain about. Glad I just ignored him.
