Spoiler:
Top Gear: Vietnam Special
The boys each receive VN₫ 15,000,000.00 to buy transportation to take them from Hồ Chν Minh City to Hạ Long, a trip that's one thousand miles long.
<hr>
This is easily one of the funniest Top Gear episodes ever. I love, love this special. Just as good as their other ones. Can't miss if you're a fan of the show.

This episode was just OK for me. The scenery and cultural stuff was astounding, but I don't think the Top Gear guys added much, especially if you had seen the previous specials. In fact much of the time I wish they would shut up and show more of the people. They did a great job showing off a beautiful country, but I think they missed a lot of the culture.
They had some running jokes and gags that came across as very scripted or had been used before. I know the show is scripted but when it's good it doesn't feel like it and this never lost that feeling. I've grown used to the regular jabs at America so I didn't mind them here but I will admit I did laugh when
The show wasn't bad, largely because as a travel program it was very good, but I think that overwhelmed the Top Gear part of the show. Perhaps it even overwhelmed the producers of the show and threw them off their game.

I agree - one of the best episodes to date. I was laughing so hard through the first 45 minutes and at the very end.
Jeremy truely was ticked off. You could tell he was genuinely upset and didn't want to do it.
Equally, you could tell Richard was ticked off about this bike. I really do feel they pick on hamster the most. I wonder if the bike will get an Oliver like makeover?
Ironically, I think James may have enjoyed it the most.
Loved the swan bike.

Nope, available thru finalgear.com which has consent from the BBC.
I liked the show, but at the same time as I was watching this, I was also watching By Any Means, which is Charley Boorman, getting from Ireland to Sydney, by any means, and they were also in Vietnam, and oddly enough also showed the b52.
Both shows are great
By Any Means is essentially long way down/long way round without Ewan.,

That's news to me, I've always been under the impression that Finalgear is just a fan run site with links to torrent files which just like any other tv show or movie that gets shared around torrent sites. On the iTunes store and Topgear.com/US they show Series 11 episode 4 as the most current so while I'm not disputing the BBC may be ok with finalgear.com and downloading their torrents, do so at your own risk.

Maybe Consent is the wrong word, but they certainly throw a wink in the direction of the people who torrent it
The Top Gear Producer has mentioned them in his blog.

Its a maxim we stick to religiously - lots and lots of useable stuff ends up on the floor - but in the case of Vietnam, we simply couldnt fit the actual basics of the journey into 60 minutes; wed have had to lose whole days completely, so 75 it is, and believe me it rattles along at that. So, Christmas tip for anyone downloading illegally: get plenty of bits and torrents in or whatever it is you do.

Myabe they'll come to their senses and release it on Blu (even if it's SD, a lot more episodes fit) and make it Region-free.

Don't tease me. I'd buy a Blu-ray player in an instant if Top Gear were released (even if it were R2 and allowed playback in R1; e.g. Life on Mars).

I loved S12, glad I procured it. It was cool to see the Veyron finally go around the track. Now I want to see the Shelby SSC Aero put into The Stig's meat paws.
I'll take a quick look for this special.

Even if they overdid the bit, that "Born in the USA" bike had to be one of the funnier gags the show has done.
I didn't think I would enjoy a TG episode with almost no cars, but they managed to pull it off. Hilarious stuff, right down to James swimming the last few yards to get to that bar.
