Official DLC Post

I have compiled a list of the varying difficulties for each song on each instrument, as well as youtube links to all songs on Expert guitar and Expert drums when available.
This information is gathered from the tracks that I own, with the gaps being filled in from other various sources. If anyone has any of the missing information, PM me and I'll get it thrown in here.

I have put them into spoiler sections per L&O's request, as well as to keep this first page uncluttered.

The format for the difficulties is:
Guitar/Bass/Drums/Vocals/Band

The current week's DLC is updated on Tuesday AM when the songs are officially available for download on 360.
If you are looking for the upcoming week's DLC, check the Announced DLC section near the bottom of this post.

9/16/08
*NOTE: All DLC tiering from here on will be following the RB2 tiering system of 0-6 instead of 1-9

I've only been able to play for a little bit, but I have a serious nag about the inequity of the BotB leaderboards. Since it has no regard to number of band members or difficulty level, I find it woefully depressing to see my shitty band come in dead last all the time. It would be nice to filter the whole leaderboard down to people/bands that played in the same configuration as you. But, anyway... Oh, my solo band for these leaderboards is Cardinal Sin. It'll be near the bottom.

I've probably only come across maybe 15 of the songs so far, but the one I hate the most so far is E-Pro.

Other than that, I'm looking forward to rocking out and making it through BWT and the Challenges on my own.

I'm having a great time with this (my band is The Killer Newts - mostly me solo, sometimes I sing or have friends over to play)... so far the only song I FAILED on Expert was dream theatre...luckily it was during a challenge and after quitting, I could restart the challenge, reselect my new difficulty and start on that song...so I finished that challenge on hard instead...damn that song is tough.

A lot of the chick band songs SUCK... Like seriously Bikini Kill, L7 (I don't HATE The donnas but don't love it) are terrible... but my WORST song so far has to be SONIC YOUTH - Teenage Riot... LONGEST SONG OF MY LIFE... HORRENDOUS! Sorry, had to vent, I hated it...

Really glad I didn't import RB1 tracks yet :) I think I still have a few more songs to unlock (Battery!) but I've unlocked a fair amount, including Shackler's (which kind of blows IMO).

So far I think the difficulty is fine, if not a bit harder than RB1 for some songs... I'm loving that songs I didn't expect to be a bit tricky are getting some good bits - the solo in Jimmy Eat World comes to mind. Oh well, back to rocking! (I'm on the dvdtalk rocks list and definitely looking to play with some people online soon...)

Well, and while I've downloaded a lot of songs, it's fun that the ones you personally picked (downloaded) come up to break up the Donna's and Bikini Kill's that come up too.

We stopped last night before we could beat "Battery" (failed it about 5 times...we play on Medium and occasionally on hard, so we aren't guru's that most of you are!)

EDITED TO ADD:

Does anyone know why the 4 songs that are "excluded" from importing, are not included?
"Enter Sandman" - Metallica
"Paranoid" - Black Sabbath
"Run to the Hills" - Iron Maiden
"Monsoon" - Tokio Hotel (Exclusion applies only to the European version of the game)

Enter Sandman - Export is considered a "disc" sale, I believe. Metallica's contract for "disc-based" content is a set amount. So it wasn't viable to include them.
Run to the Hills - It's a cover. Maybe they've gotten hold of the original?
Paranoid - Same as RttH, or maybe Ozzy is exclusive?
Monsoon - This song is being touted as a GH:WT "Euro-Exclusive". So that's why it's left out there.

I got some time in during my lunch break finally, I'm pretty happy with the game.

I mostly play the drums with the game, and as such, the song choices are quite good and varied in a completely different way than numero uno... The seamless integration with RB1 is fantastic (during my first Mystery Setlist I got Say It Ain't So and Still Alive (GLADoS)).

The Drum Trainer is a great way to pick up some basic rhythms (theres around 74 of them, seeing OMG PIRATES! listed as one made me laugh.) at different levels (up to 200bpm), theres individual goals to beat the erm beats at different BPMs which is cool. Freestyle is also nice to have, though with only 4 drums + bass it's extremely limited.

I was kind of surprised to see a few songs in the later tiers of the game, namely Everlong and Chop Suey. Chop Suey proved to be fairly easy but I completely forgot Everlong is basically one long roll, and I absolutely suck at synching up rolls in these games.

So far so good, the "music video" stage was a nice addition haha. I actually prefer the Tour mode to the original setlist for one reason: I can change difficulties and still continue on. The early songs are just too easy on Hard and the later ones appear ridiculously brutal on Expert.

Okay so I have a question about the Battle of the Bands challenges that use "star average" or whatever.

I noticed that whatever band is in front of the mighty Zagnut! when we play has a six star average per song (6.01, I think). How the hell does that even work?

Liver&Onions

I noticed this as well on one of the songs I was playing on. Had 4.77 on the first song, but the second one I had more than 9.77 (meaning > 5 stars).

I can't recall if I was playing Hard or Expert, but it obviously didn't stop at 5. Makes sense because of the existence of Gold Stars on Expert.

I agree that it should stop at 6, and anything above 5 should be reserved for Expert.

Side note: anybody else notice on the BotB challenges that your multiplier and unused OD persists from song to song? That could really shake things up if you save your OD at the end of song #1 because you know the next one is going to start out heavy and fast.

Other than that, I'm looking forward to rocking out and making it through BWT and the Challenges on my own.

Same here. I never really got through much of BWT in RB1 since it was usually just me, and while I could handle a majority of songs on expert guitar, I could barely get through a lot of them on medium vocals when singing along. So I ran into a wall fast.

Now being able to do BWT alone, along with the challenges and band battles, there's a lot more for us solo players to do.

I'm not sure what band name I'm going to settle on, but gamer tag is aktick if you want to add me.

Any of you solo players interested in making a very informal online band?

One thing I don't like is losing fans during solo play. I understand what they are doing, but solo play is a much more relaxed setting and if my kids/dog whatever get in the way and I miss a dozen notes, I restart. Or even having to get up in the middle of a song now is a hassle. I didn't know quitting in the middle of a song was a 'feature' of RB1. :(

For the BotB challenges that are "Star Challenges", it's the sum of all stars on the whole set. If you pass 5 stars on a song, you keep going up as well. So a 3 song set can be higher than 18 stars. I'm not sure if this is taking into account gold stars (only Expert can go over 5), or what. We've been playing them mainly on Expert only.

Tour Challenges have no repercussions for quitting or failing a song. If you fail a song in World Tour, you should lose fans. It makes complete sense. If you were performing a show and botched a song really bad and "failed out", people would start to up and leave.

One awesome thing that happened to us yesterday was a "Hot Topic Challenge". By accepting it, we were going to get quadruple cash. Money is awesome, so we went for it. We got the extra money, but lost just as many fans. I thought that was damned genius!

Are fans used for anything in this game other than opening up new venues or challenges? There's not an achievement this time and that was the only thing I remember them being used for in RB1 - though I always had more than enough bands before we had the required star and performance (per city) counts.

We started up our new band last night. Oddly enough, it told us the names 'Dirk Diggler', 'Buck Swope', and 'Rollergirl' were inappropriate for XBox Live play. Lame.

However, it did let us name our band <b>'The Moustache Rides'</b>, with band members 'Tom Selleck' and 'Rollie Fingers'.

There's not an achievement this time and that was the only thing I remember them being used for in RB1 - though I always had more than enough bands before we had the required star and performance (per city) counts.

Hey guys,

I lurk a lot but mainly post over at another forum. Been enjoying RB2 immensely since yesterday.

Regarding Party Mode (where only the band leader has control in menus), how do I access this? Is it an unlockable? How exactly does it work?

I've been hoping for this for a while now since our RB parties almost certainly have one or more drummers enthusiastically pounding away before a song. We're back to the start screen before we know it. :brickwl2:

We started up our new band last night. Oddly enough, it told us the names 'Dirk Diggler', 'Buck Swope', and 'Rollergirl' were inappropriate for XBox Live play. Lame.Strangely, I didn't get that message with my solo band, even though I got that complaint in RB1. So, I guess Crip or Tard? lives.

Well I got an email with a code that I'm to redeem in the Xbox Live Marketplace. There's no mention of a specific song in the email, so perhaps it is just enough points to pick whatever track I want?

I'm at work now but will enter the code just as soon as I get home.

Then I feel like David taking out Goliath as I ended up beating your band during the Steve Miller battle.

Did RB2 add the ability to background download songs from the Music Store? I can't stand that I have to sit there and look at the progress bar - even though it's less than a minute, I could be perusing other songs, or playing.

From the last thread:

I need to delete Green Grass and High Tides. It's like a landmine I know I'm going to hit in a mystery set and fail.

You think that's bad? My mystery setlist decided to pick System of a Down's B.Y.O.B. for the last song in the expert guitar set! I lost 2,000 fans!! (Though I gained 20,000 more very quickly afterwords) I think I may have to delete that and re-download it when it's safe to do so.

Jukebox mode is if you go to Options -> Modify Game and scroll down.

Is it?

Finally, there’s the missing Jukebox Mode that had been shown previously (and was in a pre-release build that we had for preview). This seemed to be intended as a way to set up a bunch of songs for playback (such as at a party), though without interaction. With our review copy, we were told that Harmonix wants to make sure the mode is the best it can be, so it wasn’t included in the final game. While you ultimately don’t miss what you don’t have, it’s always tough on us in the game press to have a portion of the game shown to us before released—and which we write about—but have it yanked from the final game. Let this serve as notification if you’d read about it in a preview, but can’t find it in RB2.

I follow music pretty closely, I have never even heard of them. Instead of appealing to a small, select group of users, Harmonix needs to appeal the masses especially when it is concering female vocals. If they are going to try and capture the female market and entice them to participate, they should probably make an effort to pick more popular songs.

I think there is a lot less whining when they go mainstream and at least it something girls recognize. I have no problem with the Donnas, Harmonix just picked an awful song for RB2.

They have only scratched the surface of Heart, Pat Benatar, No Doubt (though it is coming), Joan Jett, Blondie, The Pretenders, etc...

Ten colorful notes unlock all Rock Band 2 tracks

Posted Sep 15th 2008 4:30PM by Dustin Burg

After making your Rock Band 2 purchase, you may be wondering exactly how you can experience the entire rockin' setlist without having to actually do all the "work". Because, as you're well aware, having to play the game through completion in order to unlock all songs is so 2007.

Thankfully, Harmonix included a "game modifier" option where, with a few presses of the colorful guitar buttons, players can alter the game including a modifier that unlocks the entire setlist. Simply make your way to the RB2 game modifier screen and enter the sequence - Red, Yellow, Blue, Red, Red, Blue, Blue, Red, Yellow, Blue. Tada! Instant setlist unlock! You rebel.

Does playing certain gigs/songs lead you different ways? I've played an assload of songs and still can't get to Europe. Lame-ass announcement from Harmonix regarding the 20 free songs and Jukebox Mode:
http://www.rockband.com/forums/showthread.php?t=81247
Hey all,

Just a quick update on a couple of things people have been asking about since RB2's launch yesterday.

First off, thank you to all of you who've bought Rock Band 2 and are online playing the 84 master tracks that came with the game! As promised, Harmonix will be delivering 20 songs of free DLC to customers who buy Rock Band 2. This content will be available later this fall. Stay tuned for news re: official release date for these tracks.

Combined with our consistent download offering of songs, albums and packs, we're continuing to deliver on our promise of bringing alot of music out there weekly for the Rock Band platform. By the end of 2008, there will be over 500 songs across Rock Band (RB1 Disc, RB2 Disc and DLC).

We hope this answers your questions about the free tracks. We'll be announcing the exact tracks as we get closer to the release date. In the meantime, we hope you're enjoying working through the epic RB2 tracklist!

Lastly, some folks have been asking about the status of the previously discussed Jukebox Mode. This mode was removed from Rock Band 2 in the final stages of development. We have no immediate plans to bring this feature back to the platform in the future.

Hope this clears up any confusion!

While the exclusion of Juke-Box mode really sucks, I didn't expect the 20 free tracks until closer to the launch of the PS3 version anyways.

The user-base is already fragmented enough, and that would just be a further kick to the balls for PS3 users if we got an additional 20 DLC tracks that they didn't have access to. At least now, they can still get the weekly DLC (even if it is 2 days late :burn: ).

It was though. Harmonix has gone on record that they are trying earnestly to get girl vocal songs....and that is the final product.Tuscadero! Velocity Girl! that dog.! The Rondelles! Fuzzy! Visqueen! Unrealistic choices all, sure, but it'd make me happy. I'm thrilled that they dropped in even one Go-Go's song. I'd buy "Beauty and the Beat" in a heartbeat if they had that as a full album download.

That's happened to me a few times (boring on Hard, fun on Expert). I can't beat Everlong on expert so I started a 4 song set on Hard instead and had to quit out (off Hungry Like the Wolf) due to sheer boredom, though Expert isn't a huge improvement on that one. Mostly on white wedding, it was just relaxing to play, still focuses a lot on the yellows though.

Did they change the difficulty of some of the RB1 and DLC songs? I just had "Just What I Needed" come up in a random set, playing on hard - I 4 starred it, and in RB1, I could 5 star it on expert...? That or I'm just terribly "off" tonight.

There is a general consensus on all the "Rock Band" boards that the calibration is not the same from the RB 1 game. So, it takes some time to get it right. I still don't have mine right, but I am getting closer. I was missing a TON of notes at the beginning.

I tried calibrating just before my last session to see what the difference would be. The difference ended up me getting no gold stars on some songs that I always gold star :(. I switched back, but lost my band "gold star" status because of it. Anyone know how that's calculated (not gold starring a song, having 5 gold stars by your band name)?

It is not you. I initially blamed it on too much GH until I shook the rust off and still missed notes I swore I was hitting. Then went to a bunch of different forums and read the same stuff over and over.

I never had to calibrate before in any of these games.

Agreed, pretty bad. The other one I played last night that was stupid - E-Pro. It was just the same thing over and over. Most songs will at least mix it up a little during a transition, but this was just the same pattern the entire song. Not real exciting.

I figured I'd chime in with some of my thoughts after I picked up the game (and guitar) the other day. For the record, while I would classify the original RB as the "better" game, I always had more fun playing GH3 as I could actually hit the notes consistently. So after 2 or so hours of playing it was more or less the same with RB2. I got up to Battery before I hit "the wall" half-assing my way through any HOPO sequence up to that point.

Then while browsing through the options I saw "Breakneck Speed." My God. What a difference this makes. Thank you Harmonix. I no longer cringe every time I see a long HOPO sequence show up. Granted, stuff like the ridiculous solo in Constant Motion still is a pain in the ass, but for nearly all the more difficult songs it not only made it easier, but much more enjoyable (plus, I finally beat Snow! Suck it RHCP!). I played for nearly six straight hours after that and had some of the most fun since I first discovered GH2. My wrists haven't been this sore since I was 12.

I haven't tried any of the multiplayer stuff yet to see how the hyperspeed translates (if it even does) but, man, what a difference.

Also, I haven't adjusted any calibration but it seems to be pretty spot on. Do I need the specific RB2 mic to do the auto calibration?

Let me also gush over the change in the single player experience. My biggest complaint in RB1 (and GH, for that matter) was the fact that I'd play for a while on Hard and get stuck at a point in the Career/Solo Tour. When, at that point, what option do you have other than quickplay and practice? You can't do much. And to move on on a lower tier, you'd have to start all over!

I love that this is fixed and I can see what Tour songs and Challenges I've done and in what configurations. I'm getting as many Xs as I can until I just can't go anymore and then will happily start playing for Hs for practice that might actually be attainable.

Fantastic.

I have a question about the Challenges, if anyone knows.

Is there a set number of Challenges to be had - i.e. only what shipped on the disc - or are they automatically updated based on what content you have? I ask because I haven't seen anything in there that is related to on-disc content yet. There were the 4 initial challenges (Band, Guitar, Drum, and Vocal Warmup Challenges). Beating the guitar one opened up the apprentice Guitar and Bass Challenges as well as the Warmup Marathon 1 - which led to WM2 and then Apprentice Marathon 1.

Are the new/dynamic Challenges merely part of the BotB section or can I expect more single-player Challenges in the future that I can use to get to the magic number of 25 Expert Challenges completed?

Ask me this question in a month, and I'll be able to tell you." I pressed him for details, or a more specific timeline. "Something big is coming, very soon."
So, any ideas or is this just the AC/DC stuff that hasn't been announced yet?

I have only unlocked a few of the challenges, but I have a "PAX Collection" challenge waiting for me since I bought all of the PAX songs.

They've said that if you beat a challenge and a DLC is added to it later on, you just have to play that one song and it considers the challenge beaten again.

It's not cheating, it's "Game Modification." ;)

Well… it spaces out the notes a lot more which, at least to me, helps a LOT with giving me a sense of timing. I noticed a big difference on quicker HOPO slides and even with some of the trickier, quicker chord changes (seeing the chords spaced out a bit seems to help my brain register them). It also is easier to tell how far ahead/behind the notes you are hitting and adjust your timing accordingly. For the easier, more repetitive, songs (like The Middle), I don't really notice a difference at all; in fact I think my scores were a little lower.

You know for some reason I've never used the HOPO's I strum every damn note. I am an expert level and usually depends on the song I average 95%. Would I be much better utilizing the HOPO's?
I do the same thing. I find it's easier holding the fret earlier and leaving the timing up to my right hand/strum. It's also a bit of a habit from losing combo during HOPO so this way I don't lose a good 3-4 notes after I break streak.

You could probably play Charlene on Bass and Guitar for the other acheivements. Do you have to be playing a RB2 song to get them?

Haven't had time to read the whole thread yet, so I'm sorry if this has already been stated but I think there is a way to simulate Solo Tour mode from RB1 (and then some):

-start a new band for your solo tour for a specific instrument.
- only ever use this particular band for this particular instrument on solo and all the stats will reflect your solo play on that instrument. You could put 'solo guitar' or whatever in the name of the band to keep things simple and clear.

-Go into the Challenges in World Tour mode.
- play the setlists that have 'Marathon' in the title.
- these are like tiers. they are sets, but don't have to play thru the whole set in one sitting, you can save and come back later.
- you will only play new RB2 songs with no repeats

Enjoy

Someone please correct me if I am wrong, but I think this should work.

Regarding the Velocity Sensitive Pads - has anyone noticed this making a difference? I thought it was supposed to be noticable during fills - but I can hardly hear the drum beats during fills at all. So I attempted to whack the shit out of the pad - and still didnt notice.

Anyone out there able to tell the difference in game?

After deciding to get the RB2 guitar by trading in games at Gamerush...none of them had the RB2 guitar! I'll have to see what trade-in values Gamestop is offering for RB1, GHIII, and that awful Hellboy game I bought because I'm a sucker.

I'd have trouble getting rid of GH3 because of the virtuoso pack, Top Gun Theme, and the Halo 3 theme...other than those, that disc can kiss my white-hairy ass.

Correct, it's not essential (but your drumming will improve on the new set).

Gamestop has a trade in 3, get $15 extra deal right now. RB1 is down to $10 though, GH3 is $8, so those plus whatever you can get for Hellboy +$15.

The pads are quieter and also rebound more which makes playing easier in lots of ways, less fatiguing, you can roll etc. Just overall way more solid.

I find the new kit is awesome with the Zildjian Anti-Vibe sticks. I played 'Let there Be Rock' online last night on Expert Drums, and my wrist did not even get sore....! That would have been a killer on the RB1 set with regular sticks.

I'm still not happy with the calibration. I just moved from my DLP, which seemed semi-OK finally, to my LCD and I just can't seem to find a happy setting. What do you guys, that have LCD's, have your calibration set at? I know each TV is different, but on RB1 it seemed perfect when set to the 'LCD' setting. I wish they still had that instead of the metronome.

Ratt is a blast, and Man in the Box too. I just got done playing Let There Be Rock for the first time...Jesus Christ, the last minute is mayhem. Such a bad choice of an ACDC song (IMO). Agreed on Man in the Box. Awesome song. It just hasn't come up much on my setlists on tour.

As far as Let There Be Rock, there is no doubt in my mind that the only reason they went with that song was for it to be the staplepoint of the marketing campaign.

Well, I failed my first, second, and third songs all in a matter of 30 minutes, lol. Everlong, Painkiller, and Jack Fucking Black's Tenacious D. Painkiller is just madness, but the other two, I dunno. I couldn't hit anything. This calibration thing is killing me. I keep changing it and it never seems close. At one setting it seems fine for string notes, but I can't hit anything in a fast solo. When the solo is dead on, I can't hit the strings, at all. Very frustrating. Maybe frustrating enough to get the RB guitar just to calibrate. I know it sounds like an excuse, but damn.

I managed to grab a copy on Monday afternoon by finding what seemed like the only open Best Buy in Houston. Unfortunately, with storm clean-up, hosting the in-laws who don't have power yet, and having to take a trip yesterday and today, I've only logged about 2 hours.

I so love this game. Sure, I have the minor "wish I could see stars in a list" complaint, but otherwise, it completely met my expectations so far. Granted, it's been helped by the fact that I seem to be getting to play the songs I was most looking forward to early on in the challenges. I'm sure I'll get frustrated once the string of impossible metal hits, but the setlist (yes, even Bikini Kill) has been awesome. Man in the Box, Shooting Star, and Go Your Own Way are the at the top of my favorites so far.

I had similar calibration issues as many, and after two songs at different settings, I used the recommended LCD settings in the manual. They were virtually perfect for me, as I'm able to maintain note strings with little problem.

Anyway, I'm just pumped as hell to get in tonight and play some more. I'll hopefully get some time tomorrow to start tinkering with Drum Trainer.

I used the settings listed as LCD 1 in the booklet and it works perfect for me. I play on hard guitar and haven't failed a song yet, Painkiller is the next on my list. Needed a break after Battery. The wife and my friend didn't seem to have any trouble with lag on drums or bass either. Tried calibrating it myself but that made it worse so I went with what the book said and I have no complaints.

I played four songs from the Peace Sells DLC last night and I have to say that they were some of the most challenging expert guitar charts ever for Rock Band or Guitar Hero. I actually failed my first try on Bad Omen and I didn't fail out on any of the challenging Rock Band 2 songs (Battery, Visions, Panic Attack, Painkiller).

I cannot recommend this album enough for people who enjoy challenging guitar charts that have great solos and numerous cool riffs. It was quite refreshing after being bored playing dozens of Rock Band 2 songs with endless repetitive chords.

Even if you do not like this style of music, which most of you probably do not, you have to admit that these charts are insanely fun and could not possibly be labeled as boring.

Another death metal fan here. I am stoked about them putting Visions in the game and hope it is a sign of more to come. I also love the expert guitar chart and had a blast playing through it (even if I could only get three stars).

I don't really care for Jane's Addiction, but I found Mountain Song a blast to play. I caught myself actually holding the guitar differently than I normally do in that one.

Where'd You Go? is one of my favorite songs. I failed it 3 times before I passed it finally yesterday because I just can't do a Ska riff, apparently. And WTF is that nonsense they put at the end to cover the fade?

Man in the Box is great. Spirit in the Sky is great. Livin' on a Prayer is great.

I'm loving the game and the fact that I'm not stifled by being alone. I'm up to 200+ stars and over 500k fans in BWT - all expert so far, but not as highly rated as I'd like. Won't be too much longer before I have to back down to Hard, I suspect.

Question - does anyone know roughly how many stars you need to go for the Jet? I'm ready to cross the pond, but it just keeps saying "more stars are needed".

Oh, and I got my first non-disc Tour Challenge last night, a 9-song set of RB1 Warmup songs. Had Weezer's Blue album as the cover and ended with Gimme Shelter. I think this unlocked after I did the Apprentice Guitar set.

The one where you only see your score for a song after you finished it (next to the song, not in the summary immediately after completing the song,) not how many stars you received, or, even what instrument or if it was a band performance.

In BWT, does the number of fans you gain (or lose) depend on how well you do on the song? For instance, if I get 5 stars on a song on Hard, and 3 stars on it on Expert, will I gain more fans by playing it on Expert?

I don't know for sure on this. I know in RB1, it was based on number of stars, regardless of difficulty. For example, if you got 5* on medium, you'd get nothing more on hard or expert (not sure about gold stars, though).

From what I've read on the RB forums, it seems you get fans no matter what so that, at least, is fixed.

Whether or not you are rewarded more for a crappier performance on a harder difficulty is something I don't know. I've been gaining 10-12k fans per song on expert lately with mostly 4* performances in the middle venues in various cities. But I have the stylist hired currently.

My new drums had a bit of cross-talk on the yellow pad. I returned them to GameStop (after a little bit of hassle) and they gave me another set. This one had the same problem! They said I'd have to go through EA on this one.

Yesterday, I opened them up and tightened the screws on the piezo-meter 1/4 turn, and now they're flawless. It seems that all issues with cross-talk or double hits can be chalked up to the piezo-meter not being on tight/loose enough. It's a fairly easy fix.

I'll mess with it tonight and see if I can tell...I've been playing mostly on Hard simply because I wanted to get the most stars possible to open venues faster. But if I got more fans for playing on Expert, even if I didn't get as many stars, I'd do it.

I've really enjoyed playing almost only BWT the last three nights. It makes it a little more of a mystery as to what songs are going to be unlocked next. I've played probably 6 hours or so, and a lot of songs I'm excited for haven't been opened yet (in large part because I started in Chicago, I think), so it makes it more interesting to me than if I just plowed through the challenges and unlocked things the "old" way.
