Tales from the Crypt Season 5 coming on Halloween

TV Shows on DVD just announced that season 5 of Tales from the Crypt will be released on Halloween, October 31. That will make 5 seasons released in not even one and a half years! And with a total of 7 seasons, I think it's safe to say that we'll have the complete series by next year. Don't you wish all TV series were released in this speed? I think they only thing that wouldn't like that would be our wallets :P

I hope there's a big boxset at the end of the run for the entire series.

A bit off-topic, but does anyone remember the follow-up HBO series called "PERVERSIONS OF SCIENCE". I think it started the year after TALES ended and was produced by the same people. It was based on EC Comics' "Weird Science" comic-book and had more of a slant towards sci-fi. I think it only lasted one year.

And I believe Fox network aired a couple of pilot episodes for a western show based on an EC Comic that didn't pan out, but I can't remember what that was called.

I love it when they release shows this fast because I generally try to wait until the entire series is released before starting to watch.

I've read about Perversions of Science, and I think I faintly remember it airing, though I don't know if I ever actually saw any of it. I am really interested in seeing it, so hopefully they'll release it after Tales is done.
As for the western you're talking about, I'm not sure about that, doesn't ring a bell for me.

Yes, that was it - thanks! Apparently, those episodes were later recycled into CRYPT episodes, minus the different wrap-around segments with a live host from the original Fox broadcast. "Showdown" and "King of the Road" from season 4 of CRYPT were actually episodes of TWO-FISTED TALES with modified host sequences. The imdb mentions "Yellow" from season 3 as also being part of the TWO-FISTED TALES "trilogy", but when Fox aired the hour-long pilot of TWO-FISTED TALES in the US in 1992, they didn't show that one - only the other two episodes aired. Apparently in Europe, though, the three episodes aired as a pilot movie and "Yellow" was included.

If I remember correctly, Season 5 was where the show really started to go downhill. I might have to Netflix them first and see if I want to bother collecting past S4. You got to hand it to them for the speedy releases, though.

I remember season 5 not being as good as the previous ones as well...

These are really speedy releases too, with so much TV on DVD coming out, I barely have time to watch them all (I'm still on season two of crypt) so hopefully by the time I get around to 4 & 5 they will be part of a 'Warner Brother's' Sale that come around from time to time...

This is excellent news. I loved this show thoughout, even when it started to go slightly downhill. I remember quite well Perversions of Science and really hope that it is put out on DVD.
