I was reading Maxim a few minutes ago. In it, there was an interview with a Nascar driver. He was asked what he did in his free time, and he said that he likes to ride his dirt bike, and that Stanton Barrett, another driver and Hollywood stunt man, was teaching him a few things.
So, I headed over to the ol' IMDB to look him up. He's a driver in the Nascar Nextel Cup and Busch series. He's done stunts in a hell of a lot of movies (Dukes of Hazzard, Spider-Man I and II, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, 8 Mile, Batman, Jurassic Park II and III, Blade, Jumanji...the list goes on and on). He's a professional in extreme skiing, motocross and snowmobile racing. His father was Stan Barrett, a professional stuntman (Airport, Smokey and the Bandit, Last of the Mohicans, and more). His dad was also the first guy to break the speed of sound on land. Paul Newman is his godfather. His grandparents were Dave and Roma McCoy, the founders of Mammoth Mountain Ski Resort in Cali.
He's nobody you've ever heard of (unless you follow the Busch or Nextel Cup series, perhaps), but he's led a really fucking cool life. So, I figured I'd post about him.
