Advice Regarding DVD-Audio
Not sure I have my Receiver connected correctly?
I have a Pioneer VSX-49tx
I have it on auto select.
Under front panel is button for Multi CH input
should I select this when playing DVD audio DVDs?
I have 6 RCA wires running out of my DVD player to
Multi CH inputs on back of Receiver, this is correct yes?
If I select this music seems to only be coming from front speakers (Stereo)
Receiver on "Auto" selects Dolby Surround which sounds the best!
3 audio formats Stereo + 6 Channel Surround + DVD-Video Dolby Digital
Which is the best to get the best sound 6 Channel?
Thanks much for your replys!

Sounds like you are hooked up right.
Yes, you use the Multi-Channel button, when playing dvd-a discs.
If it's not sounding right, something is wrong in the dvd player's setup menus.
Good luck!

Also make sure you are playing the multichannel tracks on the disc. Most DVD-A discs have the multichannel DVD-A, high-rez stereo, and Dolby Digital tracks on them.

Also, go into your DVD players setup menu and make sure it prioritizes to DVD-Audio and not DVD-Video. You should not get any Dolby Digital surround on your 'auto' settings if it's playing the DVD-A tracks.

All u guys are right on the $.
Dummy me never thought to check DVD players menu.
Under Audio there is option for audio "output" was on 2 ch surround.
I changed it to "Multi Channel".
Never in my life have I ever heard sound like this for music. UNREAL!
Another question: my Receiver reads "analog" in auto setting is this correct?
DVD-Audio is analog verses digital correct?
Thanks again for all your help, much appreciated.

Yes. Obviously this will depend on your music tastes, doesn't matter how good if you don't like it. AIX is a tiny studio run by one guy, and he does a great job. The remasters like you mentioned sound great, but brand new recordings with careful attention paid are incredible.
There are other recordings (and studios) that are great, too. I don't mean to demean them, pretty much all DVD-A or SACD discs sound better than comparable CDs. But there's always someone on top.
