Aw. Poor Kids in America and National Lampoon's Barely Legal made no money yesterday.

Spoiler:
To tell you the truth, I didn't hear of both films until I saw posters for them in some Beverly Hills movie theater yesterday afternoon.

I heard for the theatrical release, they edited out twenty minutes of "explicit" footage.

Supposedly, when the DVD comes out, it'll only be released in the censored version. And then a few months later, the studio will make us double-dip for the unrated and sexually explicit out of control edition which will have the deleted scenes re-inserted and special audio commentary from the extras.

Funny you mention those two movies, as they are my plans for tonight.

I expect empty theaters.

Gee, this sounds like a sound marketing idea to create a cash fountain.

Up until this thread, I had no idea a movie of National Lampoon's Barely Legal even existed. No wonder noone is going to it. I do seem to remmeber a Kids in America ad but maybe twice ever and I can't remember a thing about it.

It looks like another bummer weekend at the box office which is a shame because there is a fair share of quality movies out there. People are just not going to see them. I just saw North Country, and that is an very emotionally charged film that I think people need to see.

WOW. "The Fog" only dropped 37% in its second weekend. That has gotten the worst reviews of the year. I still haven't used my ticket to see it yet. Looks like it'll be playing a few weeks longer.

When I was in Beverly Hills, I asked myself, "What the fuck are these movies?" So I peeked my head into both of the screens they were playing on and both looked like direct-to-video films projected in a movie theaters that were playing to empty crowds (seriously, there was nobody in the theater but myself peeking in).

Then again, I did (finally) see Waiting while at the theater, so I can't say too much for my own taste.

It's the Halloween film that teens can see. It has one more weekend, then poof!

Dissapointing take for Doom no matter how they spin it. And the Box Office doldrums continue...

I wonder when the movie ticket sales will pick-up? I don't know if people will be in the mood for Zorro the weekend before Halloween. I wonder if this drought will continue until Harry Potter opens?

Saw it this weekend. Lots of kids in the theater and they all seemed to enjoy it.

I saw "Domino" this weekend (#11) and liked it quite a bit. Saw "Stay" (#13) -- not so much. Probably a good thing I didn't wait until next week (or not).
