Outer Limits (New) - S1 coming 11/1

Some retail sources have recently contacted us to let us know that MGM will release the entire first season of 1995's The Outer Limits on November 1!

Here's a list of the season 1 episodes:
The Sandkings (1)
The Sandkings (2)
Valerie 23
Blood Brothers
Second Soul
White Light Fever
The Choice
Virtual Future
Living Hell
Corner of the Eye
Under the Bed
Dark Matters
The Conversion
Quality of Mercy
The New Breed
The Voyage Home
Caught in the Act
The Message
I, Robot
If These Walls Could Talk
Birthright
The Voice of Reason

Please remember that this has not been announced by the studio yet, and the date may change.

They sure are confusing me. First they release those 2 compilations. I got those. Then in Canada, they release a S1/S2 set that has 20 episodes from the first 2 seasons. I got those because there was no episode overlap with the compilations. Then they release 4 more compilations (and offer in a box set with the first 2 compilations) with a few overlaps. Now they go for complete series sets. Sheesh.

I dumped the first 2 comp sets and avoided the ones that just came out because I had a feeling they would eventually go the season set route.

So after selling me what is probably the "best of", they now want me to buys sets that add the crappy episodes back in? I think I'll pass .....

The discs released so far have been *themed* sets, not "best ofs"! Besides, you only have 6 of the 22 episodes duplicated in the first season set. I can't wait to see this most excellent sci-fi show's very first season!

If this is true, then I'm certainly buying. I passed on the themed sets because, like many fans, that was not what I wanted. Of course, this is conjecture until the season sets are officially announced. But if this happens, I'd be curious if that's what MGM planned all along (get sales with the theme sets and hit the fans with the season sets, planning on diehards to buy both), or if low sales and/or negative fan response prompted a change in DVD release strategy?

Amazon

A bit confusing for me. It lists it as 1999, yet the individual DVDs are 1995. Which date for the new series is correct?

Guys, can any of you tell me what the packaging is please? Is it a set of slim plastic cases inside a big cardboard slipcase or is it a digipak? Thanks

Does the full season set have episodes uncut as they originally aired on Showtime, or are they edited? If you've seen "Caught in the Act" you can easily distinguish which version made it to the set

Thanks.
