I've been wanting to get the first Batman movie, but have been waiting/hoping for a new edition. How is this one? Video, audio, anamorphic, extras? If it's deficient I'd rather keep waiting.

But be warned that there maybe a chance that they are going to do a boxset and not release the movies on there own. But right now it is not know.

I somehow doubt they'll release a boxset instead of individual releases. They may have a boxset in addition to the individual releases, but there is no continuity among the four films to warrant the absense of individual releases. On the other hand, it would be great if they could somehow bundle Batman 1 and 2 together, since those two did have at least a little continuity.

It is not about continuity, WB sees them all as being the same as far as Batman and then the sequels. Alot of people see Matrix the same way and look at that Ultimate boxset that you still cannot buy just Matrix. I understand you don't like Batman 3 and 4 and alot of people don't, but don't expect WB to agree. But either way we still don't know how they are going to release them. I hope they do release them individual and in a boxset so that they give people choices.

What wacked out alternate universe do you live where you can't buy just The Matrix??? Seriously, that disc is all over the place. Not to mention the fact that all those films were released individually before the boxset came out.

I would say he is talking about the new two disc edition of the Matrix with the new transfer that is included in the boxset.

Irrelevent. All the movie/anime content in the Ultimate Matrix is available individually. Whether or not it has the same a/v has nothing to do with this discussion.
