I love it when DJs remix strings music with breakbeats. Examples of this would be Hybrid's "Finished Symphony", and the Propellerheads' "On her majesty's secret service", which is a breakbeats remix of Bond movie music. Great stuff!

Rob Dougan "Furious Angels" CD has this (actually the second instrumental CD)

I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for, but here is a Hybrid live set incorporating a live string section. There is a little bit of talking in the beginning as it is a radio show.
