Lack Of Releases Starring Brando!!!?? Where Are They!?!?!
Hi people,
I'm quite surprised at the lack of thorough coverage on Brando films... after recently watching On The Waterfront... the only film after Godfather that I've seen Brando in, I've begun looking around for DVDs and theres not much!! Not here in the UK or the US!! I mean, there are barebone versions of street car named desire (usa) and viva zapata (uk) but where the hell are the double-super-duper-mega-versions?? lol???
anybody know if they're better releases on the way?? I mean, the legend passed away and still nothing?!!!! whats going on????
Cheers!!

rq42, I know what you mean! I'm (im)patiently waiting for releases of:
Mutiny on the Bounty ('62)
Teahouse of the August Moon
Julius Caesar
One-Eyed Jacks
and many others And yes, I know One-Eyed Jacks has been released... but I'm talking about a good version from a major studio. Brando is one of my favorites, and I'm pretty P.O.'d about the lack of quality Brando DVD releases!

And how about THE FUGITIVE KIND with Brando as the original snakeskin jacket wearing rebel. Written by Tennessee Williams, co-starring Joanne Woodward and Anna Magnani, directed by the great Sidney Lumet, it's a puzzle why this isn't out yet. I'm guessing MGM/Sony owns the rights?
And speaking of MGM, I'm hoping for a revisit of LAST TANGO IN PARIS with a better transfer and some sort of participation by Bertolucci. At least it's out there though.
