I wanted to pick up Hitchcock's Psycho, but with multiple releases out i wanted to select the best/latest (best picture/sound/extras quality) edition. thanks for the help!

As far as R1 goes, there has only been one release (although it has had 2 different covers). For other regions, your best bet might be to ask in the Internation Forum.

in region one there is only one release...two covers....but its the same disc.

i would snatch the box that has vertigo and Alfred hitchcock presents vol 1. It just went oop but i see it at best buy for 32.99. Get it quick.

awesome, and thanks for that box set tip. looks like i might have to wait around for the anamorphic release though.. if that ever happens =) ill check it out today.

I have a friend who's been waiting for this... he's been waiting 7 years. My advice? Get it now. It's pretty cheap (usually around $15) and there is zero sign that they're working on a new edition.

While the lack of an anamorphic transfer is disappointing, the current DVD is pretty darn good. Decent picture/sound, great extras.

Hell, I think I even have a sealed one sitting around here, if you want. Send me an e-mail if you want it.

Yep. I got the Universal CE version and it's pretty good. Also have the remake and it's pretty good, too.
