I bought a used copy of Gran Turismo 3 today for 5 bucks, and it had a red cover. I had never seen this before, but I noticed it had "not for resale" on the bottom of the cover, was this a part of some sort of promotion or bundle?

A few years ago Sony sold the PS2 in a bundle pack with GT3. It had a limited edition red cover, so that sounds like what you bought.

Yep, red cover was from Costco/Price Club.

My GT3 is the red cover from the GT3 bundle pack but I got it at Best Buy. The PS2 box itself is red too.

The red cover came with the bundle no matter where you got it from.Mine came from Wal-Mart,although i no longer have it since i have a friend who doesnt know how to return things he borrows.

I traded my blue cover for the red one from my friend. He didn't care and I preferred the 996 pic over the Skyline. BTW, when did they release the red disc? Is it the Greatest hits version? I have the original blue disc.

AFAIK, the red cover only came with the GT3 PS2 bundle (PS2 and GT3 in one box). The greatest hits version is the blue cover with a GH banner across the top.
