"Lost" - Is it any good? Worth watching?

I haven't watched a single episode of Lost.. I have all 13 of them and I'm wanting to know if the series is any good.

Is it corny? Does it suK??

If you say it's great can you list some other shows you also think are great so I have a general idea of your taste?

Some shows I watch weekly are:

24, ER, and I can't think of nuttin else??

Thanks..

If you have a TV, you will enjoy "Lost." How about that?

Based on those two shows that you mention as liking, you will love Lost. It's just as suspenseful (if not moreso) as 24, to the point where as soon as an episode ends you want it to be the following Wednesday to see what happens next. It also has some great character development, just like the early years of ER.

As Morf says, if you have a TV you will enjoy it....it really is that good.

Sweet... Thanks!

I watched the first three seasons of 24 the last couple months and now we've run out of something good to watch.. It sucks having to wait a whole week for 24 so now hopefully we can get into "Lost" and watch an episode of that per night...

Thanks for the replies!

I didn't pay $6000 for my new HDTY just to watch a show with that Party of Five guy. Come on!

While Lost isn't like 24 or Alias, the components of mystery and wanting to see more are there.

I never mind rewatching a recorded episode with family members that haven't seen them yet. Rewatchability is very very high.

That is a very apt description/comparison.

I think I would have taken less time to get the joke if there were more exclamation points at the end. As in, "Come on!!!"

At this point is quite good. It could really burn out fast though depending on how much they tease and drag on as seasons go.For some reason it just does not have chemistry of X-files. It will not get 5 seasons to tease with near nothing and keep fans happy. But if you fall into category most do here then as long as it has Kate and Shannon in a bikini every ep they could just play bingo 24/7 and no would complain.

I love Lost so far, but I'm really wondering what it would actually take for the show to jump the shark. I mean go completely over the top to the point where people go, "oh hell no I'm not buying that" and quit watching. There have already been weird things that happened during hallucinations (Zombie Dad anyone?), people we thought were dead who weren't, etc. But I just go with the out-there plot directions because I like the show so much, and anyway I'm sure they're minor compared to how weird and absurd it's going to get in the future.
As long as it doesn't get boring I can't imagine what could make me stop watching at this point. I just hope the final episode doesn't end with it all being someone's dream. That would be beyond lame. I think the writers are smarter than that, and I doubt they even have any idea where it will go years down the line, much less how it will all end.

To the OP: Definitely watch it from the beginning, learn the characters' names (there are quite a few), and expect lots of twists and interesting backstories. I can't see how you won't enjoy it, unless I overhyped it

Wow... Watched the first 6 episodes.. I must say this show is sweet..

I loved how Locke said "checkers" in the first ep.

I don't like how Katie kissed that jerkoff dude... I think she done did Jack wrong..

Sweet show though..

I'm glad I started watching it..
