I am soooo excited!!!!!!!!! Miami Vice is getting released on DVD. While shopping at amazon, i clicked on a link and there it was. Feb 8th.

Does anyone know if the studio will change the music. That was one of the best parts of the show. I hope they did not change the music.

yes we know, but from what i understand all the orgional music is intact, thats why it took so long to get out

Music rights never held up the release of Miami Vice on DVD. They certainly were a factor when it did come time to release it (because they had to be paid), but Universal was slow to warm to the TV on DVD genre and merely got around to Miami Vice on its own schedule. It intended to release the show with its music intact all along.

All of the brouhaha over Miami Vice and its being held up by music rights were propagated by a man who claimed to represent Universal but was a fraud. He quickly went into hiding once the studio realized what he was doing and took legal steps to make him stop.
