I Need Home Theater/Audio Subwoofer Recommendations
A friend just asked me for sub recommendations. I think the budget is $250. Sound quality is most important, followed closely by build quality. It appears as though their current sub crapped out just a few months after warranty. I think it is a JBL.
Thanks for your help in advance.

The best deal of subs is to build one yourself. Not many want to take the time, but for $300 you can build one that will go deeper and sound better than pretty much anything you can buy. Here is mine, but now mine is covered in speaker cloth to make it look better:

I second the parts express sub, it is AMAZING especially for the price. Its on sale right now for $99 so for $250 you could get TWO of them
I have this sub and an Acoustech 12" sub, the Dayton holds its own and then some.-
