I would think that any band with members that guzzle beer would probably not be considered straight edge, so no. Your friend is nuts.

Ixnay is my favorite. They peaked at Americana, Conspiracy was basically Americana II. Sounded like left over tracks and b-sides to me. There are a couple decent ones on there but they are few. Never did get Splinter.

Couldn't find any recent threads about the band and this seemed the closest to general info I could find. Just scored tickets to the OC Fairgrounds show in July for Offspring with The Adolescents opening up of them. The Pacific Amphitheater is a great venue.

The whole "straight edge" concept cracks me up. It's a 35 year old song written by a prissy, self-righteous 19 year old know-it-all. MacKaye has repeatedly since said people are taking it way too seriously. The whole thing has a "Life of Brian" vibe.

Almost got tickets for that, then I remembered that I'm seeing Nick Cave in Los Angeles that evening. Would love to see Adolescents. Should be a great evening. Enjoy!

I almost missed out cuz all the tickets through the presale were sold out then I went through the Live Nation app and scored some great seats in the lower level without a problem.

Offspring Singer Has Too Many Planes, Can't Buy Any More Planes

It's so punk to own planes but not pay for them.

TMZ reports that The Offspring lead singer Dexter Holland might be facing the repossession of both of his airplanes JUST BECAUSE he failed to pay for his third airplane. God, the way punks are treated these days.
According to a lawsuit filed this week, Cessna Aircraft Company says Holland owes them $782,422.16. His issues with the company date back to 2007 when he had trouble making payments on his third plane. To remedy the situation, he sold the aircraft privately and gave the funds to Cessna, who gave him until 2017 to pay off the remaining balance. He also had to put his two other planes up as collateral.
Because he hasn't made a payment in a year, the company is suing for either the money or the planes.

Does he have stock in Apple or something? Does The Offspring pull in that much $$ on tour he can (or chooses not to) pay for multiple airplanes?
