No more Conan on Comedy Central?

There are no upcoming episodes of Conan on CC, according to my DirecTivo; I wonder if it is gone for good.

Anyone hear anything about this?

Dammit! Neither can I!

I hate this because I work out at midnight and always catch the rerun at 5 the next day after playing hoops!

I guess they lost the rights, Comedy Central without SNL and Conan, is a sad thing. MadTV is alright sparingly, but they play it way too much.

The replacement of Triggerhappy TV isn't too bad. It's pretty funny IMHO. But Comedy Central definitely should've given us some headsup.

Maybe NBC killed the deal; could be that people weren't bothering to stay up so late, when they could just catch it the next day on CC; that would make advertisers on the NBC version unhappy.

It doesn't surprise me. Now that NBC and Universal have merged, NBC has many more options of its own for showing SNL and Conan.

Have you noticed how much more NBC product is coming out on DVD now that they have the power of Universal Home Video?

Maybe it'll show up on Bravo?

I am going to miss it. I like to watch Conan after I get home from work, and definately miss it. And what they replaced it with makes me mad, reruns of shows that air on their channel at other time slots.

What I really would like to see on there in replacement: Jimmy Kimmel's show. Dobut it would happen, though. Isn't Comedy Central also owned by the same parent company as NBC, thus the reason they share Last Comic Standing? I doubt ABC would pimp out their shows to CC. But in my area Jimmy Kimmel comes on at 12:35am and I never get to see it.

No. Paramount owns CC, while NBC just merged with Universal (although GE is still NBC's parent company).
They share LCS because both have a stake in the show - the show's winner is supposed to get a development deal at NBC and a 30-minute "Comedy Central Presents" special on CC.

No, it's owned by Viacom, who also owns Paramount, CBS, MTV, and UPN.

That would be awesome to see Jimmy Kimmell. Too bad about Conan.

How about Letterman instead? His show is a Viacom/CBS property so it'd be much easier to get the rights.

Actually I'm pretty sure Letterman's show is a Worldwide Pants property.

Just saw an ad on CNBC that says Conan reruns are going to be aired at 7PM. I didn't catch what date the reruns were starting.

Which is what they used to do before Comedy Central.

Really? Well, scratch that. The ad made it seem like this was something new.

Yes. They used to show Conan repeats on CNBC. Then Comedy Central bought the rights to air them for a few years. Apparently they are reverting back to CNBC now.

O'Brien mans CNBC slot
Wed Oct 27, 7:11 PM ET Television - Variety
Pamela McClintock, STAFF

NEW YORK -- CNBC is becoming the dude network, at least in primetime.

Financial news net will begin airing episodes of NBC's "Late Night With Conan O'Brien" at 7 p.m. ET a day after they first run on the Peacock.

"Late Night" will replace the Washington newscast "Capital Report," which goes off the air Nov. 12.

Decision to enlist O'Brien's show is part of an aggressive campaign to turn CNBC's after-dark lineup into an entertainment destination. Earlier this year, net bowed "Dennis Miller" at 9 p.m. ET and "McEnroe" at 10 p.m. Both are original and male-centric.

NBC Universal Television Group prexy Jeff Zucker was a chief architect of the initiative, which CNBC senior veep of primetime Bob Meyers is implementing.

O'Brien's show used to be repurposed on Comedy Central. When that deal expired, NBC was able to shift "Late Night" to CNBC. Move comes not long after NBC announced that O'Brien will replace Jay Leno as host of "The Tonight Show" in 2009.

Miller's talkshow has pulled OK numbers, while McEnroe's show has fared poorly, but CNBC insists it will remain on the sked.
I'm glad his repeats are coming back to an early time. Most nights I can't stay up late enough to catch his show.
