Question about '60s Country Artist who committed suicide
My dad was asking me to find out this guy's name. Back in the '60s, my dad saw this country singer in concert that he really liked. He said the guy had several hits, one which he thinks is called "Burning Bridges" or something like that, went on the Grand Ole Opry, then committed suicide soon after. I spent an hour at All Music Guide and couldn't find him. He either committed suicide in the late '60s or early '70s. Anyone know who this is?

There's a song called "Burning Bridges" by the Mike Curb Congregation on the Kelly's Heroes soundtrack. I don't think Mike Curb committed suicide, though.

Jack Scott sang a song called "Burning Bridges" back in '60. He was probably on the Opry at some point, but I don't think he killed himself. I googled up the lyrics:
Found some letters you wrote me this morning
They told of the love we once knew
Now they're gone I burned them to ashes
Don't want nothing to remind me of you
Burning bridges behind me
It's too late to turn back now
Burning bridges behind me
All I want is to forget you somehow
See if that matches what your dad's thinking of. HTH.
